100 - RvP

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

100 - RvP

Post by SammyDroppedHisShorts »

Ok something positive in a time where we have been really hammered.

Robin Van Persie is just short of joining an elite band of Gooner brothers and I think it is a sad indication of the times that the club have not made more of this.

When Wrighty was on course, each match programme had a goal totalizer which would with each goal get the fans a wee bit excited.

I do feel that in this dark period we should as true supporters encourage the club to make a bit of a fuss (I know they won't) of RVP.

Despite what has happened recently, for Robin to join this elusive list just goes to show what a wonderful, mercurial and world class player we have at our club.

Sorry, as much as I admire Robin I cannot find it in me to praise anyone today!

I respect your opinions guys and feel as crap about yesterday as the next person, but

100 goals is a milestone that few have reached with Arsenal and I think it's fitting we congratulate choccy legs for the impending contribution.

Always thought that Merse being stuck on 99 was quite indicative of his career.

Bloody good but not quite good enough to be among the best.

Love him to pieces though.

Agreed, he was one of us, council estate boy who made it big time. Local lad who played some sensational football and but for the culture would have been a great.....loved his ability more so than anyone of his era.

To be fair to Van Persie there have been some wonderful goals amongst that 100.

The volley against Charlton and a goal in the Emirates Cup spring to mind.

Wonderful talent who was blessed with legs made for an ostrich!
