Gundogan is more of a playmaker but Dortmund played him in a system where they we're playing with 2 defensive midfielders in there first 11foxinthebox2001 wrote:Don't wish to pop your bubble but I thought both Gundogan and Bender are defensive midfielders.swimmer1 wrote:Well that would show some ambition

Do we need both?
Cesc would be a better option.
SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
We are getting close to a 100 pages in this topic. That is usually the time for one signing. And no, Sangogo or whatishisname does not count.

Lewandowski is not allowed to transfer to Bayern Munich this season.

so you could go for him ...but I guess Mourinho wants him...
You should not try to get Gündogan ..

Couldnt for the life of me understand how dortmund could even consider selling lewandowski to bayern - yes they are writing off big money here but, and dont let anyone in AFC know this secret, but big clubs do not sell good players to their rivals. Yes it is a novel concept and not in tune with any club interested in raking in the dollars but a club with any kind of positive ambition cannot sell to a rival and still hope to succeed or progress.
This is the stance we needed to take last summer when old ferguscum knocked on our door but back then I stated my belief that we should have been open to selling or former captain to juve even if it was for a fee of 5m-7m less than we could have received from either manc clubs - is this something dortmund would consider ? With all due respect to dortmund, they are a modest club and are probably punching above their level but given their recent history would any of believe that they are incapable of selling gotze and lewandowski and reinvesting in quality players to continue their rise in status ? In recent seasons they have sold kagawa and sahin and use the money to bring in players like reus and they are a better team now than they were prior to those sales
Anyway dortmunds transfer stategy is of no real interest to me......unless we are buying lewandowski or reus or bedner or either of their centre backs - jesus I could go on forever
Re: SUMMER TRANSFER THREAD
Unless season ticket renewals have gone badly I dont expect much noise from us until August when the so called targets sign for other teams and we end up signing all the ones no one of quality wants . . . . . again !
If the sales haven't gone well then there will be loads more noise but little action until August when the so called targets sign for other teams and we end up signing all the ones no one of quality wants . . . . . again !!
Repeat and fade !
