For the same reason Borussia sold Gotze to Bayern. Don't underestimate Bayern's power.

If Draxler wants to leave Schalke but stay in Germany, he'll move to Bayern. Also Schalke previously sold Neuer to Bayern.
Firstly Gotze had a release clause. Secondly Draxler wanting to go to Bayern is completely different to Schalke wanting to sell him there. I'm not saying it won't happen but it was implied that the Schalke chief called off the deal because he'd rather sell to Bayern in the summer.

Very confusing last night.

It seems that there was intermittent coverage of 'THE UNDATEABLES' on Sky Sports News throughout the evening.

Only at 11 O Clock did I realise that it was actually The Sky Reporter at the Stoke Training ground.

Gormless morons or what??

Tricky one...I hate the prick for what he done...but only because I loved him .
Would be a good signing...but would make us look so small time.
Thankfully a load of shit..never gonna happen.

Doesn't Draxler have a release clause too? According to ESPN and Sky Sports, he does.

No no no no no - what he said is that they had A BID from one club that was located to the north of where they are......in other words it wasnt Arsene FC  To translate that into language that we are all well versed in, it means we fcuked about, asked a few "what is the cheapest you will sell him for" type of questions and then ended up limping away with our tails between our legs like the 2nd rate club we have become

Bid or no bid, refused by Schalke or Wenger, it doesn't matter. There will be rumours in media for weeks, one side blaming other and so on..
FACT is he will not play today against Palace and neither next week or week later (just as our only signing :D )

I don't see a point figuring out now who or where did it went wrong, we didn't sign him, the end.

You don't ? When you balls up at your job will your boss take a similar view ? Maybe he will want to know who balls' d up and cost his business money ? Maybe you might be held accountable for that cock up ? That's exactly the way it should be at our football club - somebody screwed up big time by signing a has been crock and by not signed a much needed striker and I would have thought that all fans would want heads to roll over this

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli, 23, could be helped on his way to Arsenal with his boot sponsor contracted to make the Gunners' kit from next season and keen to subsidise a £40m deal.
