All gone quiet on Matty Ryan. I wonder if we will go in for him. I thought he was pretty good cover.

Probably waiting for the outcome of the Ajax keepers court case.Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:23 amAll gone quiet on Matty Ryan. I wonder if we will go in for him. I thought he was pretty good cover.

Might well be beaten to him by someone like Newcastle or Brentford.Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:23 amAll gone quiet on Matty Ryan. I wonder if we will go in for him. I thought he was pretty good cover.

Arsenal are in no rush to make a decision over Joe Willock, and are commanding a fee in the region of £30m. Mixed reports as to wether Newcastle will match this but their interest is clear. [Various]

Norwich City will use the windfall from selling Buendia to secure the signing of Martin Odegaard. The player is keen on the move and personal terms not thought to be an issue [source: I made this shit up]

Arsenal are understood to have brought up Hakan Calhanoglu, who is out of contact with AC Milan this summer, internally as a target. He is an option with the expectation that he is an alternative to Martin Ødegaard. [@jamesbenge] #afc

Arsenal matched the salary being offered to Buendia, but Villa's package to Norwich was more enticing.
Told that Arsenal 'matched it, or went even more, but on a different structure of deal.' #AFC

From what I have heard we wanted it over long term with stage payments/bonuses. Norwich wanted it up front so they can go and spend it on his replacement. It all comes back to the fact we are financially ruined and don’t have the cash.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:27 amArsenal matched the salary being offered to Buendia, but Villa's package to Norwich was more enticing.

So there you go. If that's true then the player didn't choose Villa over us, the club did.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:27 amArsenal matched the salary being offered to Buendia, but Villa's package to Norwich was more enticing.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka are both close to leaving Arsenal. Their future’s should be sorted within the coming weeks.

I'm still not sure it sets a great financial precedence if Villa can afford to structure a better deal than us. I guess Edu and Arteta want the finances for Odegaard and any other deal is secondaryClummo99 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:53 amSo there you go. I'd say you're probably correct in your thinking there.GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:20 pmI'm still not sure it sets a great financial precedence if Villa can afford to structure a better deal than us. We've almost certainly got to sell to free up additional funds too. Hopefully those deals would be bulk cash up front and not on the never never.

Bloody hell Everton in 10th were only 10 points behind the Victims in 3rd.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 9:18 pmOh Lord....
We won't get relegated. How many times do we need to go down this road?
In spite of the hysteria on here we are not complete and utter shit. We are mid table mediocrity.
Our squad is crap but it is not that crap, there is a lot needed to turn us into a Champions league team but there is even more needed to make us a relegation battling side, Arteta with all his incompetencies nearly got us into Europe when he had us at 16th at one point. We would need to throw away 25-30 points next season to be in a relegation battle and much as i malign our squad we just aren't nearly that bad and neither is Arteta no matter how much shit we throw at him
I think muzz that this season has been a freak season and that the league is in fact not close at all - next season we will see citeeh and the victims miles ahead of everyone else, and the chavs, the scum, leicester and ourselves (and possibly everton) battling for positions 2-6. Mid table mediocrity awaits wolves, villa and leeds, with the rest in a battle to stay up
