Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I can just see it now at some point in the future when Arteta has finished ruining the club - he will do all these interviews where he will say (many Times):
"We were linked to him"
(name any of the 50+players that we have been linked with this past month or so...)

Arsenal are prepared to spend nearly £250m on at least five new signings this summer, giving Mikel Arteta the chance to rebuild the squad. 90min has learned that Arsenal have been given the green light by the Kroenke family. [@90min_Football exclusive] https://t.co/SU87OJyaKq
The rebuild, which will be led by Edu, will primarily target younger players that have the potential to improve & their value increase. That development of players into more expensive assets is a significant part of the Kroenkes’ willingness to spend big. [@90min_Football] #afc https://t.co/zI28vNGwnH
Arsenal are initially focusing their search on a new goalkeeper, central defender, full back & two central midfielders. However, with the club also keen to move several players on, which could additionally help raise funds, there could be more as well. [@90min_Football] #afc https://t.co/vUSdhU6Aqo

The French justice system are looking into the Victor Osimhen deal last summer, as only €10M of €81.3M deal reached Lille. In the last 4 years, former Lille owner Gerard Lopez has transferred €67.7M to companies headed by himself. (@lequipe)

That's right for our lot. Get him on the cheap and then blow £100K a week on his wages.
FFS!! Please get us a proper negotiator soon.
Sadly, the reality is that even average/decent players are on that type of wages, so 100k per week is not exactly mind boggling

Definitely dodgy, overpaid on Pepe, Leno and Saliba , someone's pockets were getting lined. No coincidence he was bombed out very quickly after Tim Lewis joined.Redarmy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 6:45 pmif confirmed thats incredible.....gooner265 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:54 pmThink that was more to do with dodgy RaulRedarmy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:35 pmthey wasted £72 million on pepe....fuck only knows what they would do with £250 million?? Exactly. Who would trust Martinez-Lite and Edu to spend 250 million and not end up with a couple pub ballers.Redarmy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:35 pmthey wasted £72 million on pepe....fuck only knows what they would do with £250 million?? From what I am hearing we were told Ben White could be bought for £30m before he got called up to the Euros. Brighton now want £50m and are trying to start a bidding war. We increased our bid up to £35m but we are unlikely to go any further.

Must I continue to make the same point ?? You cannot say that we overpaid for saliba when this gormless c.unt has never given him a chance If he plays and is shit, THEN we can say that we overpaid for him, but the reality is that he has been a success this season in the french league, and has been a very good player for france at under 20 level, but we have a c.unt in charge who isnt good enough to manage the dog and duck second team, and it will be a cold day in hell that I trust his opinion on any player

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Hang on Augie he might have been forced into playing ESR but has continued to do so even if not always in the preferred 10 role, so is his opinion suspect on playing ESR, or Saka or Tierney all of whom are players we can all agree need to be played
Remember Salina was allowed to go straight out on Loan by Emery and you didn't criticise him, bearing in mind that Emery was regularly playing Mustafi all that time

To be fair, that was part of the transfer agreement with Saint-Étienne.GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 10:34 pmHang on Augie he might have been forced into playing ESR but has continued to do so even if not always in the preferred 10 role, so is his opinion suspect on playing ESR, or Saka or Tierney all of whom are players we can all agree need to be played

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I dont want us spending 70m on players unless its a genuine top quality players. If indeed we have 200m to spend, I would rather spend it across 5-6 players ranging from 30-50m each. They should also be foreign players because I think its madness to pay the English premium. Did you know Harry McGuire is the most expensive defender in history. And perhaps Jack Grealish might be worth 100m, and on that investment you should expect no more than 10m per goal per season.
I would live an academic to right a thesis for why English clubs pay big money for shit English players. You just know if McGuire was Norwegian he would go for 15m.

Arsenal defender Zech Medley will join Belgian side K.V. Oostende on a permanent transfer, Football London understands, with Arsenal inserting a sell-on clause in the deal & having first option on the player if he leaves Oostende. [@ChrisWheatley_] #afc https://t.co/7w4psz388m
