I wonder if this is another sticking point for appointing a new manager, the whole idea of your team being built for you might not appeal to some of them. If these transfer rumours are true then i would guess that is our entire budget blown without a single decision or option left for the new manager and he would have to effectively work with what he's got no matter what relationship he has with the players

This Sven guy we have needs to widen his horizons and learn there are other teams in this world other than Dortmund. FFS everything you read about him so far has been about someone he worked with at Dortmund or brought to Dortmund and that includes the BS about a new manager who used to be at Dortmund.

This fucking "European model" is fucking horseshit and the reason why each European league has only one or maybe two top teams. How can a manager build a team when the players are chosen for him? It's absolute bollocks and leaves a huge slice of luck (and money) playing too much a part in any success you might have. For every success story I'd imagine there are 99 failures.

I've no problem with a DOF rather than the manager doing the deals but the manager has to be the one that identifies and decides which players he wants.
