Arsenal closing in on Manchester City double swoop with talent-spotter Sam Fagbemi set to join... as talks continue over Mikel Arteta becoming new boss | @SamiMokbel81_DM https://t.co/Xn1gRUmBmx https://t.co/xsYA2g3zGW

Ah stop - we are bringing in a guy whose previous job required him going out and finding the best players to sign regardless of cost, and now asking him to sign players that cost less than an old fort cortina
Mr Magoo could have spotted that Jonny Evans at £3m was better value than Sokratis at £17m

Have to be honest with you steve o, not signing johnny evans is a decision that I am still ok with - it appears that it is the young Turkish centre back who is the main centre back there, which seems to be the case at every club he has been with cos he has always been overshadowed by his partners

Soyuncu was also on our radar but Dick felt that we were ok at CB  We could have had the pair of them for £20M all in which is still a damn sight better than what we have. There is always an element of a punt with young CBs but unfortunately our punts usually tend to be a bit shite.

Where I do have a problem with it was when we supposedly were ok with signing the bargain that was David Luiz for £8m. Lets take a really flaky defence and throw in the biggest joke of a centre half in the division into the mix

We were supposedly tight on cash......so wouldn't Cahill or Evans have been a better bet than the useless shaggy haired prick we signed?

If we give Arteta the job then it’s a move that deserves to fail. It's not brave and it’s not innovative. It is just really fucking stupid!!

Even in the unlikely event that it works out it is still stupid because this is not the time to try to be clever and take risks.

Just when you think we have hit rock bottom as a club you realise we are gonna keep digging :banghead:
Spot on , it frustrates me that we have no say even my missus is li like wtf what about Ancelotti , is there anyway to get the message over ?
Quite wrongly I don’t want to get behind the team if we appoint a novice . 18 months and he will be out

Adding Luiz to our defence is like trying to put out a fire by pouring paraffin on it.

Whichever :censored: made that decision should have suffered the same fate Emery did.

Is this one of those ‘’deals’’ where Luiz and Edu share the same agent?

We could have gone out and got Arteta the day after Emery was sacked.

Clearly we didn’t want him and we are just settling for him now. Joke.

According to the Mirror, Mikel Arteta has agreed a three-and-a-year deal to become the next manager of #Arsenal with the club hoping he will be in charge for Saturday’s trip to Everton. https://t.co/5DG5NCciLV

Arteta will be allowed to bring in his choice of assistant & it is believed he is keen on another of Guardiola’s backroom staff, Spanish coach Rodolfo Borrell. #Arsenal
