Olympiakos A Thu 20th Feb 8pm
Re: Olympiakos A Thu 20th Feb 8pm
I'm really not sure if I can be arsed about this game or not - there can be no doubt that making the champions league would be massive right now given the financial commitments we have ahead of us for the pepe and saliba transfers, but if that is the case, then why is the club not prioritizing this competition ? I do believe that winning this competition this season will be a lot harder than last season given that inter milan and ajax are still in it, but I don't know that we can afford to look that far ahead.
In seasons past I would have been confident that we would swat olympiakos aside like a pesky fly, but with this team, in this run of form, I am not so sure. The last half hour against the geordies was good, but lets not forget that our first choice 11 have failed to beat a number of struggling sides this season, and tonight we are gonna be playing a few back-ups too. Personally I don't think that we can afford to be arrogant tonight in what should be the hardest game in the tie - play a strong team, get the job done, and THEN rotate your squad for the home tie.
At the start of this season I was full of hope for the first time in many seasons - we had some good quality young players in the squad, we had got rid of most of the overpaid, underperforming garbage, and c.unts like ozil, mustafi and xhaka looked to be on borrowed time. Fast forward 6 months and we are still hugely underperforming, have changed the manager and started again, and the 3 aforementioned prix are back as first team starters again. It is all a bit deja vu for my liking

You can bet your bottom dollar / quid that Sokratis will 'get into it' tonight with some of their team...

Leno in goal, so fucking refreshing to see. We’re going balls deep for this competition now.

Commentators don’t even realise the Olympiacos player was flagged offside for that header

David Luiz switching off and letting them have a chance. Who'd have thought it?

Indeed. Hard to see all the screen through the gimp mask if I’m being brutally honest

If Martinelli was playing non-league football in Brazil last season, I'd be sending every fucking scout I had to watch the three leagues above.
