The whole mask wearing, is toatal fucking nonsense.
Wear them in shops, but not in restaurants?
What’s that about ?
I’d guess I’d be more likely salivate, choke or even possibly throw up in a restaurant, than in a fucking clothes shop!
People with chest or respiratory problems are fucking exempt! Surely they are more likely to be coughing up fucking pints of phlegm, than any one else?
I will be refusing to wear one when it becomes compulsory here next monday.
Fuck them!! They can issue l the fines they want!

I live in Laois and the cunting Irish government has issued a lockdown for my county and two other midland counties cos of an increase in confirmed cases - the reason for this increase in cases ? Fcuking clusters in meat factories in kildare and offaly which are full of eastern european workers who simply dont give a flying fcuk about social distancing, and care even less about self isolation  There are only 5 new cases in our county today, yet we are lumped into a lockdown with the other 2 counties despite our numbers being no higher than most counties in the country

The irony of course is that this resurgence in numbers should have been avoided - 2 months ago there was cluster outbreaks coming from 3 meat factories over here and yet the government done nothing when they should have been putting new tighter procedures in place

That’s some pain in the hole Augster.

Meat factories are the perfect environment for spread - cold environment, people working in close proximity along an assembly line, load machinery forcing people to shout to communicate with each other and to cap it all off full of poorly paid migrant workers who live and travel to work together in large numbers.

Of course this has been well known since the outset so it’s absolute shit that the people in the areas of those plants have to suffer because the greedy bastards who run them couldn’t be fucking arsed to manage them properly.

Is there much bad feeling locally towards the companies/owners? I know I’d be fucking fuming if it happened near me.

Compulsory mask wearing is an utterly ludicrous idea, so I get the train to work every day, I have to wear a mask, no probs I'm a good boy, ex-army used to doing what i'm told....... now take about 50% of the other morons on the train, either not bothering to wear masks, wearing them on their chins, under there noses or constantly fiddling with them and then touching everything around them :banghead:

Go to the town with my eldest last weekend, we literally went in two shops, mask wearing not a problem, in and out as quick as possible......now cut to the moronic mainly woman other shoppers, put on mask, touch face as they fiddle with it, then go round touching everything in the shop...come out shop remove mask, touching face again, go into next shop putting mask on touching face a now potentially contaminated mask, touch everything in shop, come out of shop remove mask touch face etc, etc you get the picture I'm sure

Now the real kicker, Tories being criticised for buying low quality mask for NHS, cut back 3-4 months to everyone losing their shit over a lack of PPE and criticising the Government on being slow to buy PPE, what the fuck did these Morons, non-government MPs, Lords, Media and every other whiny bitch think was going to happen if the situation was rushed? Fuck me I guarantee that 90% of the mask worn by the public have passed exactly zero quality checks whatsoever :banghead:

Trust me on this, as someone who did extensive NBC/CBRN training and instructing over nearly 20 years, cross contamination because of lack of decontamination or replacement of PPE is one of the biggest causes of biological transference in any environment, you are better off without PPE because you are less of a danger to others... you either die quicker or get over it :cussing:

I'm from 1 of the counties locked down for 2 weeks, the meat industry was flagged up as 1 of the breeding grounds for the virus in this country at the start of the Pandemic, and what did our politicians do, sweet fuck all, because they won't take on the meat industry, too many brown envelopes being passed around.

Meat factories employ cheap labour and majority of them are foreign workers who when finished a days work are probably heading home to live in cramped flats/houses because its the only thing they can probably afford.

The HSE who are charged with making checks on businesses such as this are afraid to go into these places in case they contract the virus. You couldn't make this shit up.

I come from a small town approx 5000 people, we have had 19 cases confirmed in the town since Feb, the whole county has only 2% of cases in the country but we are deemed a risk. Local businesses only getting back on their feet and then with only about an hrs notice told they will have to close for 2 weeks.

I can't travel out of my county but if you're a tourist you can fly in from any part of the world and visit my county and then head off to another county, with no problem at all. Govt are actually putting checkpoints around the 3 counties to make sure we won't escape.

Our government won't take on the meat industry, Larry Goodman is the biggest meat baron in the country, add in he owns a few private hospitals which our govt did a deal with to provide extra Healthcare if needed, and he was getting paid allegedly 115m a month, and surprise surprise we never actually needed them.

The cancer of poor wages and lack of rights and representation in the workplace is a long running issue in some Irish industries..Chickens coming home to roost now..Someone on Irish TV News last night made a very chilling but sadly correct point on the issue..Many of the foreign workers working in these industries are going home to spouses/partners who work in low paid jobs in health care...What a fucking cocktail that would be.

It’s actually a really good idea.

The problem is, the word “mandatory” means “optional” to most Europeans and Americans who simply cannot be trusted to do anything they don’t want to do therefore it’s doomed to fail from the beginning

Sid in the above post has also admitted he has no intention of wearing a mask even if it’s mandatory.

I’m in Singapore and mask wearing is mandatory and strictly enforced (Foreigners have been deported! ) and it’s working brilliantly. Literally everyone here wears a mask. It’s brilliant and most of Asia is the same.

Europeans and Americans are way too entitled. Coronavirus must be pissing itself with laughter with how easy it has been able to spread, yet Donald still blames China for the lack of warning

Humans are mental

The Irish government yesterday defended their decision to lockdown the 3 counties by stating that there was 118 new cases between those countries on the previous day - very crafty sneaky wording there but if they wanted to be totally honest they could have said that there was 117 new cases in two of the counties (offaly and kildare), and ONE NEW CASE IN LAOIS. Yes technically there were 118 new cases involving the 3 counties, but it suggests that all 3 counties were hit hard in those numbers and that is way off the truth   Laois also had just 5 new cases announced on friday, so how the fcuk the government can justify locking down Laois is beyond me, and yet not one politician or business leader from Laois is making a big fuss over this

I'm not trying to cut the other two counties in a "fcuk them" kind of way at all - McD likes in a town some 18 miles from me and they too are suffering unjustly imo and nobody wants that. The real irony in all this, is that these huge numbers are coming from meat factories that are continuing business as normal while the rest of us are closed down  :censored: :censored: :censored:

Friend of ours lives in Carlow town (population 24,000) The river Barrow runs through the town, one side is in County Carlow and the other (Graigcullen) is in County Laois. Her brother booked a hotel in Carlow town for a family get together. The hotel contacted him to say they had to cancel his booking because the hotel was on the Laois side of the bridge. So he booked a hotel a few hundred yards away on the Carlow side of the bridge no problem. That is crazy, how do county boundaries in Ireland mean anything apart from in the GAA or County Councils? They don't define election constituencies. People live in a county and drive for a few minutes into another county to work, shop or socialise . The Government and HSE have this one very wrong .

It really is disgraceful Mc - at least in Offaly there has been condemnation from business people like Paul Bell (a fellow Gooner and owner of Brewery Tap Pub in tullamore) and other business people, but in Laois there has been deafening silence   I think 7 counties had more new cases yesterday than us and yet we are locked down. It is not a priority and I understand that, but on a personal level I am really concerned about how it is gonna affect my young lad whose football season is due to start next weekend (he play with Dublin club), and he suposedly not meant to leave our county - if Laois was a hotspot I could reluctantly accept the lockdown, but not on these fcuking numbers :censored: :cussing: :cussing:
