Anyone seen our glorious excuse for a leader? Camping in Scotland supposedly. More like luxuriating on one of his Russian paymasters yachts more like! Joke of a PM.

So are Civil Servants, allegedly.....

I cant find the article now as it was on a Facebook link but the difference in how the Netherlands are doing things in comparison to the UK and Ireland is startling, no mandatory face masks, no mandatory social distancing etc etc but an infection level that if not falling is at least stable. Seems some politicians at least can implement the right level of advice without muddying the water and confusing people.

Admittedly, at least in the UK, the media is as much to blame as anyone in constantly calling into question every decision taken and citing anonymous sources, protected by confidentiality of course, to make sure people are confused and distrusting. Our media is a complete joke using their own agendas to spin everything to do with Covid 19 rather than working together to ensure a singular message and save lives. The Government may not need help looking incompetent but the media have done everything they can to make things worse without a single thought for the lives it has cost

If there is ever a public enquiry in to the Governments handling of this crisis there should also be one into the media's handling of reporting during this time.

I went along with the advice from Government and the medical authorities..I did so because I as an average citizen felt that I didn't know better , and to be honest I still believe the medical experts know more than me and would continue to take their advice on board.
What sickens me is the attitude of the politicians, judiciary and journalists over the Golf Society Dinner on Wednesday. The judge in question was instrumental in passing the emergency legislation in Ireland regarding lockdown etc. He claims he didn't know a dinner was scheduled after the golf outing. So he obviously sat in the dining room in his golf gear, or did he have an Armani suit in the car that he threw on.
The EU Commissioner involved had spent time on returning to Ireland in a lockdown county. But miraculously he had moved to a different county just before the regional lockdown came into being.
The recently retired radio presenter admitted an error of judgement. The hotel closed to the public..
The room was divided by a shutter, which was removed for speeches. Regardless of the shutter, the guidelines were broken.
What pisses me and I imagine a lot of others off is the arrogance of it all. The hollow apologises because they were caught out by the media. We have sacrificed a lot in Ireland . This wasn't just an elitist Golf Society dinner, this was the arrogance that I witnessed first hand in my twenty years in Dublin's greasy handed till fumbling industry that masquerades as hospitality. This was the old school reunions , the fuck you we do what we like. And that is causing the anger.

Agreed 100%. It's the sickening arrogance and hypocrisy of these bastards that gets me. Every day for 10 weeks at the height of the lock down me and my colleagues travelled into work and put our health and the health of our families at risk. We've all made sacrifices for the greater good and then these wànkers - many of whom should be showing leadership qualities and setting the tone - go and pull this shit. Absolute scum. :censored:

Agree too about the arrogance and hypocrisy on show but doesn’t this also point to something more disturbing?

Its hypocrisy when people in authority find ways not to pay the fines or taxes that they make others pay. And its hypocrisy when celebrities or royals jet around the world to preach to people about reducing their carbon footprint

But what is it when not holding yourself to the same standards you set others involves personal risk? The Imperial College bloke, Professor Neil Ferguson, calculated that 500,000 could die if the UK didn’t go into lockdown. Along with the media he was one of the key architects of the ensuing hysteria as it was supposedly on his recommendation that our government was prompted into taking the action they took. Ferguson was then caught breaking his own social distancing rules to see his mistress. He resigned, expressed his deep regret ( :blah: ) and was called a hypocrite etc. But what I think was missed is that if he genuinely gave any credit to his own advice then he would have obeyed the rules like everyone else did (apparently he had also tested positive for the virus ffs  ).

The same applies to those guys at the golf dinner in Ireland. A virus doesn’t discriminate between rich and the poor or the well-educated and the ignorant so their own health would be at equally under threat to everyone else if what we are being told is the truth. The fact that these elites and pricks like Dr Lockdown broke the rules and regulations so recklessly suggests to me that they do not feel at risk. I’m not in any way claiming to know what the truth is myself but I suspect they know a lot more than we do and it's a further reasons for me to doubt the official narrative.

Actions speak louder than words. And in my opinion the actions (not the words) of these people reveal what they truly believe.

Amen. The press have been far too worried about reporting Ferguson shagging about when they should have been picking his figures apart.

In 2001 he caused the culling of 11M sheep and cattle during the foot-and-mouth outbreak. He predicted that 150K people could die. There were less than 200 deaths.

In 2002 he predicted that 50K people could die from BSE (mad cow). In the UK there were 177 deaths.

In 2005 he predicted that up to 150 - 200M could be killed by bird flu. 282 people died worldwide from it 2003 - 2009.

In 2009 he said a “reasonable worst-case scenario” for swine flu would lead to 65K British deaths. It killed 457 people in the U.K.

This March, Ferguson admitted that his Imperial model of covid was based on undocumented, 13-year-old computer code intended to be used for a flu pandemic not a coronavirus. Ferguson declined to release his original code so other scientists could check his results. He eventually released a heavily revised set of code after a six-week delay. Private sector IT experts called it amateurish and that they would be sacked if they came up with coding of his standard in their jobs.

I'm not saying the guy is a complete crackpot but given his previous predictions then perhaps a little more scrutiny of his covid predictions might have been a good shout.

Neil Fergusson has to be one of the most consistently discredited supposed 'Academics' out there yet time after time when a crisis looms he is right back in the mix spouting shite, yet he is never held to account on any of his scare mongering nor for the financial implications it causes. Why this idiot is even given the time of day i have no idea

He was right about COViD19 though wasn’t he. If we had done what Sweden did there would have been hundreds of thousands die. Not just older people either. Remember at the beginning of this all I believe Chris Whitty said we would do well to keep deaths down to 20,000.

One thing that does tickle me, theres a lot of unelected bureaucrats dictating government policy. Where have I heard that before!

So, surprise, surprise, pubs and theatres in Northern Ireland, have had their re-opening date knocked back again!
What the fuck is going on? How much longer will over 99% of the population have to live under a socialising curfew, to protect the sick and infirm?
It’s time for a mass campaign of civil disobedience!
This absolute fucking nonsense has gone on long enough!
If you’re worried you might contact it or pass it on to an elderly relative, then stay indoors and let the rest of us start living again!!!

The mask fetish is now at such fever pitch that I’d rather go to Tesco’s than a titty bar.

Her indoors is even starting to become suspicious as to why I’m always volunteering to pop down the shops, she probably thinks I’m having it off with one of the checkout girls down the frozen food aisle, but alas not, it’s a simpler vice that’s gotten hold of dear old Roddaz.

Absolute worldies in masks (non surgical) pushing their trolleys around, bending over to pick up an item off the bottom shelf allowing their ample bosoms to become partially exposed from their plunging tops and it’s clean up on aisle 3 after the mess I made in my undies.

As we’re on the subject how would one go about convincing one’s significant other to don a mask while making the beast with two backs?

Simple Roddaz me ole muck, just tell her that you love her so much that you want to ensure that she is given no Covid related infections and so just to be 101% certain could she wear a mask, and the special nurses outfit you have bought for her, Oh! And while she's at it wear a pair of latex gloves covered in lube!.

Sorted.
