The constant cynical fouling with no consequences tolerated by weak granny hair ceunt refs like Martin Atkinson absolutely does my head in.
What would help is if the gormless idiots running world football got rid of offside applying to a free kick, like offside doesn't apply to throw ins. That would make the fouling cnuts think twice. And sin bins. Fuck VAR and make some real, positive changes like that to make the game more attractive.

The rule that they should have brought in, and should have brought in long before now, is to restrict the number of players each team can have in the area for corner kicks - it is absolute bedlam at corner kicks now with players holding opposition players, and blocking off opposition players, and it literally is impossible for referee's to see everything. The latest fad seems to be teams trying to break the world record on how many players can be squeezed into the 6 yard box  The co-vid 19 virus gave the football authorities to chance to bring in this rule on the back of no contact/minimum contact, and for me it would enhance the game if teams were only allowed 3 or 4 players into penalty areas for corners

The standard of refereeing in this country has been appalling for years, and unlike the conspiracy theorists who wanted to blame everyone else for no English refs at the last world cup, I was quick to say that the reason is nothing more than the fact they are absolutely useless. 20 years ago I used to mock foreign refs compared to ours, but the standards I've seen in Europa League football are better than fat, slow middle aged men used in the PL. Are we sinned against by these fellas any more than other clubs......perhaps in some cases but I also have mates who support the Chavs who build arguments the same way against them.

I can't help but feel it would all be a moot point if we had some players who actually had some balls to manage their way out of situations. Sir Rednose and Gary Nev have often said that the Arsenal team of 98 would know how to 'start a fight' if things weren't going their way, and whilst that attracted a few red cards along the way, it also meant teams knew they couldn't bully us around. I can't help but feel teams like Brighton must look at us and know the easiest way of beating us is to soften us up. That doesn't excuse a ref not doing his job and it was inexcusable that the midfield lad for Brighton wasn't booked........but in 1998 I think Vieira and Petit would have swatted him away like an irritating fly and if they failed then Keown or Adams would have had the little fucker by his neck.

These days if the ref doesn't protect us, there sure as hell isn't anyone in the team who will

No doubt another game where both teams will once more treat us to endless quality sideways passing across the back four as the sophisticated continental influence that has enriched our game over the past 15 years or more is on display for all to see.

Wake me up if something happens please

Exclusive: Arsenal hit by another injury blow after Gabriel Martinelli suffered knee problem in training on Mon. Completed session but reported pain after & underwent scan Tue. Awaiting results + specialist opinon amid meniscus concerns @TheAthleticUK #AFC https://t.co/IY7nRAy798

Martinelli could miss rest of season after suffering knee complaint in training. Early indications suggest it could be meniscus damage which would almost certainly rule him out for season. Player was expected to feature in coming games. [@David_Ornstein]

Easy for ornstein to say now that martinelli was expected to feature in the coming games - we have been shit in both games so far and the world and it's mother has got more game time than him    If that spanish fool bemoans his abscence in the coming weeks after ignoring him so far, then someone should slap him into next week :cussing:

I'm not sure there has to be a definite end date for the slapping, does there? :rubchin:

Well i wonder how our pampered pussyholes and beige manager will get on here :rubchin: we won't win so itll be a draw at best..we really are shite  I can honestly see a relegation scrap next season  were in freefall and the slide to the bottom is getting scarily fast now.
After Everton and Newcastle win tonight, bottom half is where we will be.

It’s a defeat incoming, that’s for sure. Saints have started playing well and are confident.

As for our team.....Jesus, where do you begin? If Arteta picks the stiffs again he should be sacked. Tierney has to be LB, not Colissusnatch. CB.....it doesn’t matter, they are all shit. Midfield......well he has to bring Ozil back, that’s how bad it is. Doozy has to play as he’s the best of the rest CM. Pepe probably needs to go right wing again. Lackofthreat can fuck off. PEA needs to play striker not on the left wing as Arteta ‘Wenger-Lite’ likes to do. Martinelli HAS to start as striker and Saka on left wing.
I feel for Tierney. Leaving Celtic to come down here to play in this shit team.
He must be regretting what he has done.

Our central midfield have contributed the princely total of one single PL goal to the cause this season. One fucking goal, Torreira somewhere by all accounts but fucked if I can remember it.

Possibly the worst midfield in the league, drab going forward, shit defensively and zero fight.

Come back Sir Flicks-A-Lot all is forgiven!
The consolation goal when we were 3-0 down at Anfield lol - glory days
Fuck you’re right, that’s it, pretty grim stuff.

Xhaka, Douzi, Torreira, Cabellos, Willock, AMN, I suppose you could add Ozil to that list, have I left anyone out? That lot create absolutely fuck all.

I remember down at St Marys last season. Soton break away down our right. AMN jogging along and making no effort to track the winger .......................................... and being overtaken by Aaron Ramsey.
How i wish we could swap the two of them.

We have our 40 points so I'm not bothered about another loss. A draw would be a bonus. We're staying up :D :D :barscarf: :barscarf:
