Man City ban overturned

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Man City ban overturned

Post by northbank123 »

2-year ban quashed completely, fine reduced by two-thirds.

FFP was a doomed concept, introduced to protect the existing cartel and those who had managed to slam the door shut behind them like Chelsea.

Court of Arbitration for Sport always seems to be quite lenient towards appellants but this is a huge slap-down for UEFA.

Fuck them and fuck FFP, which is dead in the water beyond all doubt. I can hear Wenger having a heart attack from here.

And that's that.

Football now is a billionaire's play thing.

Let the super league happen so they can all outbid one another in the same place

It was never going to stick and really, to come after City when Chelsea, PSG, both of those corrupt Spanish teams and countless others have been doing the same thing for years was fucking stupid. This was all down to Real Madrid and Barcelona having a tantrum to their mates at UEFA because they were getting worried. I honestly can not see what City have done that the teams mentioned above haven' done for the same amount of time and longer.
The whole FFP thing was a pathetic excuse by Wanker for him to indulge in his own selfish vanity project. The whole world could see that it was doomed and the stupid *word censored* even admitted it himself. He deceived the supporters of his own club and the board of directors enabled it because he had to go on his doomed quest to prove you could win a league title without spending the money the chavs and manure did. They won titles and European cups, he won fuck all.
Yes, the money has distorted football over the last twenty or so years but it was doing the same thing 50 or more years ago too.

Does give a fair bit of weight to the argument that UEFA hate English clubs and City especially.

Great news! Luckily we’re owned by a billionaire so now he can get spending without fear of FFP :barscarf: .....

I have a suspicion we’ll be the only billionaire owned club not to benefit from this ruling

What a surprise. Not.

The game is fucked. It is literally feasting on its own arsehole.

The worst bit? As g88ner says above we'll be the only club owned by a billionaire to see no benefit from this. :|

The parasite that owns us is quite literally killing us. FOAD wig-peado. :censored:

Somewhere in France, Wenger is rocking back and fourth in his chair muttering "Financial fair play will work"

And also:

"Denilson and Song were the new Petit and Vieira. Why couldn't people see this?".

Every cloud has a silver lining, small as it may be the squeal of anguish from the dog kennel up the way must be lovely to hear :barscarf: :barscarf:
