The £200m takeover of Premier League side Burnley by an American sports investment firm is set to signed off next week. (Mail)

Even the smallest club in the PL are set to have a more ambitious ownership group than ours

Enjoy the last season and a half of Premier League football lads. After that its "eee-aye, eee-aye, eee-aye-oh......up the football league we go"

Stan Kroenke - a man who inherited a Champions League club and turned into a Championship one in little more than a decade - what a guy

We have a good record v Burnley since they have come up but also a few bits of luck. That could well change tomorrow.

It's a must win game Southampton at home, Everton away after can't see a win in either of those games.

Back to Burnley Sunday nights 7-15 Leicester hadn't beaten us at home in decades,Wolves similar iirc, Villa could of been 5 or 6 nil and no complaints. Last point Leeds with a defence that ships chances let alone goals we looked toothless against.

If we don't score first we are nailed on for another loss Burnley will have no fear of us and if Xhaka, Willian especially start and we don't win he deserves all the flack he will get.Xhaka time and again trusting a player that will get you the sack.

Firing high cross after high cross into strikers like Auba, Nketiah, Lacazette none can head a ball people saying we may as well of kept Giroud well we may as well have Burnley's forward Chris Wood up top, 10 goals in 11 games 13 points heading for just over 40 points sure Lego head can understand that stat.

I'd like to see how Balogun & Martinelli would do in a 4-4-2.

I know it's not gonna happen in this match but it'd be interesting to see.
Hey, we could (and will) do a lot worse than that up top.

Not sure Martinelli is ready just yet, but a cameo appearance for 20mins from the bench would be very heartening to see.

Balogun has shown that he can hold it up, lay it off and score himself - if we don’t sign him to a new contract we will regret it big time. At his young age he looks better than Lacazette has looked for a year or two.

This has a draw written all over it. Burnley have scored 5 goals all season and we struggle to create any decent chances. If we continue to lump crosses into the box it will be like meat and drink to Burnley’s defenders.

McNeil hasn’t been as lively for them this season as he was last, but he could be a threat for them on the counter, especially if we throw the fullbacks forward like we did last weekend.

To be honest anything less than a win is unacceptable.

Me too mate .. Martinelli will take a while to get back up to speed, but for me he was Player of the Season last season - before injury and Covid interfered.

Probably been our best player this season too

I think we will win comfortably tonight, then we will have to endure the usual “turning point” shite.
4-1

Lets guess it now shall we

Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Xhaka, Ceballos, Willian, Lacazette, Saka, Auba

Zzzzzzz........Zzzzzzzz.......Zzzzzzzzz

No place on the bench for any of the kids but no doubt Mustafi, Cedric, Chambers, Nketiah, Elneny etc

One massive bore the whole season
