Disciplinary record
Disciplinary record
Looking at the stats so far this season, in league games we've received 5 red cards in 23 games, averaging a one red card per 4.6 games.
In Europe we have played 6 games and yet to have a player sent off.
Given that we play the same style of play in European games as we do in league games why have we not received a red card in European games yet?
Is it the referees / VAR making poor decisions, particularly highlighting Arsenal players, or do our players lack discipline in domestic games?

Saw this during the week -
Arsenal in the Premier League this season (league rank):
9.2 average fouls per 90 (20th)
32 yellow cards (8th)
5 red cards (1st - next highest 3 red cards)
Make of that what you will........

Because we haven’t needed to break into a sweat in the Europa League group stage. Basically 6 friendlies against shite opposition.Nos89 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 8:06 pmLooking at the stats so far this season, in league games we've received 5 red cards in 23 games, averaging a one red card per 4.6 games.

Premier league is higher pace, higher quality, higher stress. Makes sense our discipline would get more stretched in the premier league.

Re: Disciplinary record
I agree with that but there have also been some shocking incidents of incompetence and cheating by several refs and the ubershit VAR abomination.g88ner wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:42 amBecause we haven’t needed to break into a sweat in the Europa League group stage. Dermot Gallagher just said on SSN that the Konsa/Saka incident wasn’t even a foul, let alone a sending off, that’s how incompetent these refs are, they think they are rock stars not match officialsDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 11:06 amI agree with that but there have also been some shocking incidents of incompetence and cheating by several refs and the ubershit VAR abomination.g88ner wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:42 amBecause we haven’t needed to break into a sweat in the Europa League group stage. The West Ham red gets overturned
Unintentional contact is ok when it's not one of our players it seems

Re: Disciplinary record
Well at least we have it straight now, you can elbow someone in the face and as long as it's unintentional it's happy days (having said that you can also elbow someone in the throat intentionally as Mane did to Tierney and that's also fair game so fuck knows really).
But you definitely can't unintentionally clip someone's foot with your knee, no sir, that's a straight fucking red and you better suck it up if you've an issue with it, unless of course it's like the Southampton one, in which case it's a mistake and will be rescinded.
Simples.

Re: Disciplinary record
Honestly, does anyone on here believe 1) had Virgel committed the same offence as Luiz did at Wolves he'd have a been red carded? 2) had lacazette gone down like Salah did against city we'd get a penalty?
Re: Disciplinary record
You can add scrapping your studs down an Arsenal players calf/ Achilles it's okay if you're name is Bruno.rodders999 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:53 pmWell at least we have it straight now, you can elbow someone in the face and as long as it's unintentional it's happy days (having said that you can also elbow someone in the throat intentionally as Mane did to Tierney and that's also fair game so fuck knows really).
