R.I.P Tony Hart

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

R.I.P Tony Hart

Post by QuartzGooner »

The artist Tony Hart has died.

Generations of us watched his show.

Used to love Morph.

At least Tony will no longer have to worry about that nasty Mr Bennett!

Never saw my submitted drawing featured in The Gallery, probably because it was a bit shit. A very sad piece of news, Hartbeat was essential childhood viewing. Rest well, Tony. A truely great presenter and personality.

Wasn't it called 'Take Hart'?

Hartbeat was what I used to watch mate, this was back in the early 90s. It featured a section called The Gallery which showed off viewers submitted works that was sent in via their school. I believe Tony Hart fronted some other shows before Hartbeat, maybe Take Hart was one of them?

he use to remind me of some Creepy Art teacher with his flowery shirts, cravets and camp voice

typical old school presenter when times were much nicer and simplier - due to our weird and mundane society he wouldn't be allowed near kids today

"Take Heart" was for us who were kids in the 70's and 80's, before that there was "Vision On".

I used to love Vision on and take hart. I think hartbeat was after my time.
Sad news but in honesty I hadn't thought of him for so long it would be difficult to honestly say I'll miss him.
He contributed a lot to childrens TV and deserves the plaudits that are coming his way now. My thoughts go to his family and friends. R.I.P

didn't Morph and his grey coloured mate die in a fire - Take Hart wasn't the same without him

I know this is going to totally destroy any street-cred I did have but wasn't his mates name "Orph"?

I think they died in the same fire that got the cast of Wallace and Grommitt.

you are correct Wayno, more impotantly my street cred remains in-tact.

I was getting confused with something else, and this is where the street-cred goes again, I was thinking about Mork. Didn't he come from Ork
