LAY OF THE DAY - BET OF THE DAY

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

LAY OF THE DAY - BET OF THE DAY

Post by Top Londoner »

Today is the final English Classic, The St Leger at Doncaster. The third and final leg of the Triple crown, last achieved by a colt named Nijinsky, jockey/trainer combo of L Piggott/A V O'Brien in 1970.
It consists of the 1,000 Guineas over a mile, The Derby over One mile and four furlongs and The St Leger over one mile six and a half furlongs.
Camelot is trained by the legendary Aidan O'Brien (not related to the late great mecurial Vincent) and this race is his to lose.
Lay him @ 2/5 all day long. He is class, but he shall not win. I expect Guarantee @ 16/1 to outstay the boy.
Thank me later.

Your title is rather misleading....

I thought okaaaay...it's either going to be about which bird we'd all like to do the Horizontal Bop! with or.....An offering from one of the holy scriptures..... :D

I too was not expecting horse racing to be the subject of this thread!

I agree REB. I just think that his stamina might give out today, although his pedigree suggests that this should be within his compass.
If he does win then it is another great day for racing and history plus, his trainer is a maestro.

As for you other two posters. :?
Shame on you both.
I suppose that if I had titled another thread 'hop on - hop off' about the old routemaster bus, you both would have thought that it was about Jordan no less. :box:

Cheers REB. Just hope that the lad doesn't get slaughtered for his ride. Winning jockey played a blinder.
