Summer Holiday Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I was in Albania in April and I'm off to the Philippines in December, so if I do get away this summer it's most likely to be visiting family in the Lake District :( (I mean :D sorry mum! )

Never been to Mallorca... hope you enjoy it, Sid! :barscarf:

I'm looking forward to the pool parties, none of us are huge gamblers but I do plan on getting very drunk so anything could happen

Vegas is amazing. Went for my fortieth a couple of years ago. You can do anything you want 24hrs a day! Even if you're not a gambler, the casinos are just one side of the place. Even if it looks like you might be playing, drinks are free, you only have to tip the waitresses. By the way, they are gorgeous at some of the better hotels, particularly in the evening. We had a pool party at our hotel. It was great until a large group of really loud, annoying stereotypical yanks turned up. Make sure you see the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, by helicopter if you can afford it, even if sightseeing's not your thing, it's absolutely stunning! Have promised myself to go back as soon as poss.
I'm off to New York this year. Always wanted to go but it's gonna be bloody hot!

Going to New York next month. Has anyone been recently and can recommend anything worth seeing/doing outside the normal touristy stuff?

Not long back from Orlando and a Caribbean cruise to Haiti (where on a remote part of the Island got asked why Wenger kept selling all his best players :? ) , Jamaica, Mexico and Grand Cayman Islands. Rarely do holidays as self employed so bit of a blow out as buying a house and new baby on the way so have to start playing adults again :D A year ago would have scoffed at the idea of a cruise as a holiday and reckoned they were only for oldies on zimmer frames but well and truly converted. So much f'ing food though, grub on tap and some really nice nosh as well. Dangerous when its all inclusive, put on half a stone in no time, felt like Santos at the end of it 8)
