I also enjoy rugby, without buying into all that 'real men/softie footballers' bollocks there are a lot of very refreshing differences and I find it exciting. Also rugby is obviously similar to football in length - not like trying to sit through 100 overs of ODI cricket or whatever.

The scrum is something that needs to be looked at again because it ruins the spectacle and is too often decisive to the overall balance of play - it's nigh-on impossible to dominate a game if the other scrum is slightly better and the ref takes a liking to them. Sick off seeing scrums being reset every time before a penalty/free-kick being awarded at the end of it.

Wales redeemed themselves a bit but in the grand scheme of things a defeat and a poor campaign may have been what was needed to shake up attitudes - short-term pain for long-term gain. Ireland played well against England and I fancy them to do the business in Cardiff next week. England continue to show positive signs but too reliant on being dominant in the set piece imo, and when that doesn't happen like in Dublin they struggle. As well as England played second half in Cardiff Wales couldn't get a foothold because their set-piece was dominated.

I watched for about thirty seconds. During that time a caption came up on the screen displaying the collective weights of both teams or maybe it was the "pack " of both teams.....With all due respect how can the weight of a team or one section of that team be relevant in any real sport ?
Youve destroyed boxing Judo or Graeco Roman wrestling with one swipe mate and promoted tiddywinks and snooker :D :box: :box:
Meant to say team sport...

Sorry, I've been too busy with the knock out rounds for the boat race to notice what's going on in India.

Who honestly cares?

A team sport where you can't change your formation in an attempt to defeat the opposition is completely and utterly pointless.

Will be delighted when this crap is over and done with.
Just an excuse for a load of privileged posh boys to get together for a jolly good knees up.

Roll on April!

A lot of team sports don't lend themselves to formation changes. Obviously not as flexible as football but doesn't prevent radical changes in personnel and approach.

BBC bigging today up comparing it to FA Cup Final, and Grand National Day.. Four teams can be champions but games are not at same time. :?

Seems odd to me. Surely if it was taken seriously, all teams should be playing at the same time to prevent one of them gaining an advantage?

Saw most of the Wales game and bits of the England game. Obviously exciting games with lots of tries but its sad really that the tournament is getting decided on who can give out the biggest walloping in three foregone conclusion games on the last day. Obviously nice to win the Championship but it's always been a poor substitute for a Grand Slam despite what BBC say.

I think the table probably fairly reflects where the teams are at and how they've played.

Not sure if I agree with that - apart from a woeful 40 minutes Wales would have won outright. Thought the last day was exciting could have gone to either Wales Ireland or England. Thought we were safe, but the Scots forgot to play, England France was a cracking game almost changed hands on the last kick of the game. Brilliant.

Been catching (when I couldn't avoid it) bits on the TV about this pile of old pony. Am I right in thinking Oireland won this?

:rubchin:

Does that mean even our closet poofs are better than yours?

Imagine if Ireland lose to Poland next Sunday, we will have "those soccer lads haven't the heart or pride of the rugby lads " rammed down our throats....Speaking of "ramming down throats" I'm sure the Oirish celebrations went well on Saturday night.
