Like him or not Theo is one of ours - long may the press like him

Flash I would rather the press said nothing about him than give the guy undeserving praise cos there are far too many absolute fools who base their opinions on everything they read/hear in the press. The fact is that he knocked in 3 very good crosses last night (rvp should have scored from the 1st one) and I will credit him for that cos he has earned it but lets not get carried away about his ability here. Many of you that remember eddie mcgoldrick playing for us in the 90's absolutely hate the guy but watch the season review video and see how many assists the guy had that season so my point is that assists and stats only tell you part of the story and for me theo has neither the brains nor skill to be a top level player and if he wasnt english he wouldnt be getting the media love in that he currently enjoys
Will also add that the good press he is getting might also be down to the fact that the guy keeps putting himself out there publicity wise so that helps him too

Keown today on Walcott....

He’s been at the club for 10 years now and I think he’s at a crossroads, but Arsene Wenger certainly believes in him. While Wenger is at the club, Walcott will be there. The manager has fought to hold on to him with big contracts and shown a lot of loyalty to him.

What will trouble Walcott the most is that he still hasn’t nailed down a regular starting place in the squad. I personally would be struggling to keep a lid on my frustration if I were in his position, and it’s to his credit that he is remaining professional.

So he's been at the club for 10 years and he can't nail down a starting position. I can tell you what helps him keep a "lid on his frustration" Martin.... 140k per week, that's what. And the reason he'll be there as long as Wenger is, is because no other manager in the world would be insane enough to pay him that kind of money.

I could certainly keep a lid on my frustration for £140K a week.

No. Fucking. Problem.

The guy has had a confidence shattering season. He was outstanding in our best home performance of the season against Man Utd then gets put out wide and then dropped. He'll go to a mid table team and do a Vardy...because he has been miss managed, as has the Ox, as has Ramsey, as has Wilshere, as has Chambers, and no doubt Iwobi will have the same...

If by mis-managed you mean giving a player who has been largely shit for TEN years a £140k per week contract, then I will totally agree with you - if you are being rewarded for shit performances, how would you even know that you are shit ?? :? :?

If you'd said last summer that Danny Welbeck was our most realistic chance of having someone in the England squad.......

Last summer WIlshere was a guarantee: now most Gooners know he won't make it back and if he gets some pitch time, his ankles won't survive the challenges from desperate Norwich and Sunderland players).

Last summer Gibbs was a real contender for left back in the post-Baines era, now he's definitely 2nd fiddle to Nacho Monreal and isn't going to picked ahead of Rose or Bertrand.

Last summer Oxlade-Chamberlain was starting to make a claim but injury and poor form have fucked him. Don't see his future at Arsenal now.

Walcott has always been one of Woy's Boys like Rooney and has had his spot fairly well protected. Now with the likes of Vardy and Sterling on the scene he shouldn't be getting in the team, however I think Woy will still have him in the 23.

So well done Danny Welbeck. Hit form at the right time I guess and has that "utility man" string to his bow, can't all be down to luck.

It's in the best interests of the club that Walcott has a couple of good games towards the end of the season, dupes a team into paying 15-20 million for him, we get him and his wages off the books and allow younger players to develop. I see no benefit to keeping him next season.

Whens his testimonial ? cant wait to see a celtic/rangers mixed 11 !Vs theos allstars featuring Eboue ,Denilson,Bendtner,Santos, and Song and we might even get the ever popular Adebayor in for it too !

Sure to attract a bumper crowd and Theo needs the money !
