I'd like to momentarily return to the theory that Lord A-hole would have stepped down had we lost the 2014 cup final to Hull. Simply put, don't believe a word of it.
Frankly this season, it's not only that he's going trophyless but more that he's been humiliated by Leicester and Spuds. Over a whole season. SURELY X there's nowhere to hide - right?
Wrong. He insists he doesn't care and will carry on regardless
People need to remember that he's the second highest paid manager in Europe and that his stock is so low, there isn't a single top 10 European club that would have him as their manager. Not one, their club's fans wouldn't ever stand for that low level of Loser-dom. There's only one set of fans anywhere in Europe who would tolerate this and the past 12 years is evidence enough.

GREAT NEWS!!

Arsene Wenger insists he has 'no doubt' he will remain Arsenal manager next season.

The Frenchman has come under increasing pressure from fans with the Gunners title hopes in tatters after a disappointing run of results left the club 11 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City with a game in hand.

However, Wenger is adamant he will not be leaving the Emirates and remains committed to the club.

Asked if there were any doubts he would be Arsenal boss next season, Wenger exclusively told beIN Sports: 'I have no doubt, no, because I am committed. When I do something I do it 100 per cent. I am always committed to give my best as long as I am at the club.'

Wenger, who is approaching two decades in the Arsenal hotseat, admitted criticism from supporters is 'not very welcome'.

Remember folks criticism is not welcome. He is giving 100%, it's not good enough but hey, so what.

Rosicky on 85k a week, last extension in May 2015. He was 33 years old at the time of extension.

When these deals were renegotiated, did Wenger say, your approaching your mid thirties and will rarely feature going forward, and thus your going to have to take a massive pay cut to stay on? Or did Wenger just offer a new contract at the same pay?

Its just so hypocritical. He is a penny pincher when it comes to signings, yet gives away money when it comes to current player salaries. I feel this is the case, as signings are newsworthy and Wenger likes his reputation as financially prudent. Example, Arteta and Rosicky signing new deals gets a passive mention in the papers. Yet on big stories such as the Suarez pursuit, he keeps up the appearance of being financially prudent by offering an extra pound to sign Suarez. If Rosicky and Arteta's deals were not renewed, it would save 7m per year, yet Wenger 'out of principle', wouldnt go from 40 to 50m for Suarez, just because he didnt think Suarez was worth it. Thus keeping up his reputation as a financier.

I find it so ridiculous, on a football and business narrative, to squirm at having to pay an extra 10m in a transfer to secure one of the worlds best, yet at the time time be absolutely indifferent to handing out 7m a year to two players who are not needed.

When you dig beyond the cliche's and sound bites, Wenger really is just a fraud. He isnt financially savvy, he makes more than his fair share of poor investments, however he really does allocate resources horribly.
Yes mate well put...

In the case of Suarez, £45 million would have got the deal done apparently.....

There really is no logical reasoning behind his dealings....and i for one think we are stuck with him until he decides otherwise

Augie , its difficult to describe the atmosphere at the ground , most of those around me would be supportive of a new management but only lose it when the shit hits the fan .
Many support aims of the banner but not the banner itself which they see as a stick for the gutter press and all outsiders to beat us all with !
Arsenalfan TV has managed to have the reverse affect on fans than intended as people see them all as attention seeking clowns . . . .
Which they are !

In short I still dont think there is enough venom in the hearts of the fans , most are beaten and resigned to mediocrity !

Exactly what I said earlier. There is just not enough vitriol. Valencia fans burned an effigy of Gary Neville, that is true passion, real fury, animosity.... call it what you will. Wenger believes it is a handful who get mildly annoyed every time we lose, knee jerk responses to losses but they are quickly forgotten. He believes in his heart that he is the greatest thing in football, certainly the greatest thing that has ever happened to Arsenal. And he is surrounded by people who keep telling him that.

Unlikely that we will have a total collapse from here on, but would that raise the anger to a level that would convince wenker that he no longer has the support of the fans ? Many of you seem to feel that there is nothing out there that will inflame the fans enough to provoke a rebellion, and I find that amazing in a season where we are likely to finish below the scum and Leicester ffs

I think the fans have changed too and not for the better .
I'm not talking about the Arsenal Nouveau but the core support .
When we said goodbye to Highbury in 2006 it was with a heavy heart but I looked forward to our future in our new home confident in the Club and it's manager and looking to the future with genuine enthusiasm and excitement to the future .
What has happened to football generally and Arsenal specifically since then has left me deeply scarred and wounded ,not to mention embittered and cynical .
People have different ways of dealing with it ,in my youth I would have raged and screamed, but the slow invasive nature of the transformation of Arsenal from a Football Club with standards and traditions and above all dignity ,to a sleazy sickly Disney-esque money making sporting franchise machine has left me feeling like someone has died ,you grieve, its saddening but you move on !
You look back with good memories but you know that it will never be the same !
Its like taking back your lover after she's been unfaithful (DB u *word censored*) you still love them but there always be a barrier between you !
Occasionally the blood starts up and the pulse races but not like it used to ,even for those up the road !

I have become comfortably numb !

Instead of just saying that you need banners or a walkout etc...

Organise one. It can't be that hard to collectively organise a walkout, which even if it's only a few thousand then at least it will get media attention and others thinking.

Or just keyboard warrior it up on a forum and go to the next game.

Look at what forums you go on, what arsenal circles you are in and start something. I'm not a gooner but I do like arsenal, or at least I did when they played decent football. Many of my friends are arsenal so i watch them more than any premiership team. And I too believe that Wenger needs to go and his arrogance has turned me into full on hating the guy.

Not renewing your season ticket will just give the chance for somebody in the queue to fill it so not going isn't an option. You need to protest. Other clubs do it. It's your club, not his. Start a small movement and watch it grow.

Agree with Herd's assessment of the match day fans. Despite some unpleasant scenes between fans at recent games, not everybody is an Ardent AKB or WOB. I believe that most fans at our home games are disappointed at how things keep panning out and would not be devastated if Wenger went - but equally they just accept their lot and the only view they'll offer is a mild boo once a season.

I have been going for two decades now and the match day experience is worse than ever. For me the Cardiff home game New Years Day 2014 was the real eye-opener. I sat in a different place than usual and people were strolling in until 20 minutes and out from 70 minutes. There were selfies, tweeting and chats about everything from in-play betting to politics to joking for the whole game about how Bendtner is world class. Basically people were interested in everything except the football.

I was always a bit wary about the tourist fan hype but I couldn't believe how bad it was. We stole a stoppage time winner to extend our lead at the top of the table and I just couldn't enjoy it.

I was just going to post that everyone seems to be going round in circles again and then I saw your post.
I had already heard of this protest and just wondered if anyone knew how big it was likely to be?
I wasn't planning on coming to the game but if there is a big protest planned then I will make the effort to come for that. I really am beginning to think that the future of the club depends on these next few weeks. If Wenger is going to go then he has to go at end of this season. If not then I fear he will be there for at least the next 4 years...,
