THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Silus is correct. There is now just this strange atmosphere at the ground.
But is there rebellion in the air? I would say definitely not.

Forums such as this are now I am afraid totally detached from the reality of the situation at the club.
Wenger is the manager, he is comfortably achieving the aims of the owner yet again this season, the supporters (at the ground) are all happy, matches are all sold out (people not bothering to show up is their problem) and there is a nice new TV deal on its way for Kroenke to tuck into.
I doubt whether removal of Wenger has even been considered, if anything he might get a bonus this year for managing to secure a category A CL group game as well as the annual last 16 showcase event.

Arsenal fans acting like spoilt children....They have played champions league every season in the last 16 years or so (think only Madrid and Barca have done that). What gives their fans the divine right to win the league every year?

Liverpool are as big a club and havent won the league for 26 years and you don't see them protesting at the club (ticket prices aside)
I'm sure they could get a Chelsea/Liverpool/Barcelona/Utd Official Arsene Wenger Supporters Group going. There could also sing 'There's only one Arsene Wenger' at their games too.
Liverpool fans haven't got time to protest at the club, they are too busy whining & bitching about everything else.

Wenger's post game comments are baffling. He makes it seem like he's completely clueless why no one would show up, because the team play beautiful football and that's what people want to watch.

No, you fuck wit. People want to watch WINNERS, not perennial chokers taking selfies and celebrating finishing 4th.

I think I've reached the point of totally detaching myself from The Arsenal in entirety. It's a terrible situation with no end in sight. The old fraud is under zero pressure and will be here next season and until at least 2020, after he inks a new 3 year contract which there can be doubt will be offered.

Absolutely nothing will change. We will scramble more 3rd / 4th finishes which will keep wenker and legions of worshipping throngs, the board and Stan all happy. The hoardings in the bank have boiled down to catch 22 situation, as we all know its sole purpose is for transfers - which we've long been crying for in certain key areas; but then the old fraud cannot be trusted to spend it in a manner which will improve us. He will either use it to buy dross or acquire top talent which he'll completely mismanage.

It's fucking dire. No one could have imagined going from 'The Invincibles' to an utterly unambitious football club whose only aim is profit gorging. We need a change from the top down. Sadly, I just can't envisage that happening anytime soon. We've been afflicted by the Kroenke cancer. There's papa Stan at helm with junior Josh lying in wait to take over. We have the Board which allowed on board the foregoing cancers. Then we have the old fraud who has been given a free reign to do whatever the fuck he pleases as long as he keeps the Club at the "top" of English football. He'll be sure to handpick his successor to continue his model and misguided philosophy.

A proper mess indeed. Just look at spuds launching a proper assault on the title yet there isn't a hint of shame from wenker or anyone at the Club. We have a coterie of players who know they've hit a lottery jackpot signing on for us, so they happily go along for the ride. Not one will bow his head in shame. Instead, cue more locker room selfies when the holy grail is secured. They are part of the utterly fraudulent regime. Hope is all but gone. The only silver lining is that all things, good and bad, must come to an end and I hope to be around when it all comes crashing down for the repulsive *word censored* who've stolen the Club from its core fans.

"He should be entitled to decided when he goes."

Right. Like the stars who did all the donkey work to earn him his trophies?

what a moronic scouser,id love to ask him if hed of fancied souness managing them for 20 years with nothing to show for the past 12 regards the league or CL,its easy to criticise us gooners but the reality is that yes Liverpool have been dire for years just as Utd and Chelsea have been this season, our gripe is that fuck all is done about it at Arsenal whereas the other clubs wont put up with it for a season let alone 12 before the manager is shown the door,we are perpetually stuck in a half way house although most of us know we are slowly slipping backwards.i wish supporters of other clubs would just shut the fuck up regards Arsenal, they don't know the ins and out like we do

great article. probably the only time I've not been incensed by an article on the unrest at the club. No attempts to discredit the fans who want him out, no condescending tones, just pure facts.

might have to bookmark that one and whenever I get sick of media spin, "be careful what you wish for" and "he deserves another year" i'll read this to remind me that the whole world hasn't been completely brainsapped.

But they haven't struggled for 12 years have they Dumbo?? Fuck, people are THICK!!
I love the small club mongies who come out with the "they should try following Bury / Rochdale / Morecambe" type shit. "What we'd give to be in Champions League every year"

Yeah and fans of teams at the bottom of the Conference would like to be where Morecambe are, and teams in the North & South conferences would like to be there, and teams in the Northern Premier would like to be there......and most of us playing for the Dog and Duck would like to be there you fucking retards

I've said it on here before, we could lose 9 games in a row, and if we won the 10th game, fans would react like the previous 9, never happened. There seems to be a disagreement as to whether fan pressure will make a difference to Wenger's position at the club. I don't see how any protest will make a difference. Fans can hold up banners all they like, and there can be a few boos at the end of a loss, but when fans are inside the ground, they will support the team for 90 minutes, and by the time they lash out at Wenger, he is well down the tunnel. Winning last night showed exactly the mentality, many of our fans have, happy with a good result, regardless of how meaningless it is. Wenger will be here for as long as he wants to be. I despise him, and how he has ruined my love for this club, but the idea of change coming soon, is about as delusional as the AKB'S who think he is still the man for the job.
