The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Hope the club sees sense and takes Arteta on in some coaching role. Although his legs went a couple years ago he's always been a classy professional. Don't think you've ever seen him acting a fool at 3am in some nightclub or getting into fights.
City fans are already happy about poaching another one of our ex players.

West Ham:

“We are going to make a £20m or £25m bid for a player in England this week. So whatever happens, we’ll bring a top striker in.”
Wouldn't mind if it was Theo.

Given his omission from the Euros I'm hoping Walcott realises he has to leave to get games and slaps in a transfer request!

Could either wally or benteke be classed as a top striker ?

He wont slap in a transfer request cos history has shown us that he knows how to play the money game so he aint going to give up the remainder of his contract by officially putting in a request. That being said, I don't think that he will need to - if he wants away he will simply go to le cock and tell him so, and le cock wont make one of his pampered pussies do it officially

If he decides to stay after losing his England place, then I think that we can say for certain that he is motivated purely by money - if playing regularly is important, and if playing for his country means so much to him, then he surely has to want out ?
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
I totally agree; but we know TOF won't do that, the old dictator bastardMrT wrote:Hope the club sees sense and takes Arteta on in some coaching role. Might be a decent coach technically some day but he hasn't done any badges or anything.MrT wrote:Hope the club sees sense and takes Arteta on in some coaching role. To be honest the bloke hardly screams "winner" and although I admire his professionalism he is one of Wenger's favourites and his presence in the squad the past two years has underlined our soft-centres approach to building a squad.
Seems like a nice guy but don't understand the clamour to keep him on personally.
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Mainly because Guardiola wants him. Plus he has knowledge of the squad, etc.northbank123 wrote:Might be a decent coach technically some day but he hasn't done any badges or anything.MrT wrote:Hope the club sees sense and takes Arteta on in some coaching role. It just goes to show that TOF doesn't even want a Cashburton-era player coaching at the club, let alone a Vieira or Adams type.
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
It would have been ideal if he was playing for us earlier in his career as I believe he is ideal captain material. You can tell he was well respected by the players and staff. Should've retired two years ago but don't blame him necessarily for that.northbank123 wrote:Might be a decent coach technically some day but he hasn't done any badges or anything.MrT wrote:Hope the club sees sense and takes Arteta on in some coaching role. Might not have achieved much in his career but as was mentioned, he is wanted by Pep for a good reason. What better person to add to your coaching staff than a rivals ex captain.

Still About as much chance of us signing him this summer as Higuain.augie wrote:Wilson wrote:Cech

Also Cazorla shouldn't be a first choice option next year - not even nearly for me. Creativity seems to have been on the wane for a while now and if employed in a CM role will end up similar to Arteta - clever player with a decent passing range but no legs.
Look at Leicester and Spurs and the reason they've prospered going forward is that they win possession, move the ball at serious pace and have pacy runners joining the attack - Cazorla offers none of those things in a CM role. His style of play just leads to getting bogged down in congested areas well away from the danger zone.
Same reason why even if he cut down on the flicks and giving the ball away ridiculously Ramsey still wouldn't cut it at the moment - he is so fucking ponderous on the ball and counter-attacks tend to grind to a halt at his feet.
Contrast with a technically limited player like Elneny who wins the ball back a fair bit and will nearly always release it early even if it's a simple ball, and who can cover ground pretty quickly. For the creativity of Okazaki, the trickery and craft of Mahrez, the pace and predatory instincts of Vardy etc if Leicester didn't have Kante (and others) winning the ball and then shifting the ball swiftly but wisely they would have no platform to counter from.
