As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I'll take that story with a pinch of salt, too. But it seems like Gazidis is praying for TOF to fuck off, as a lot of us here are.
If Eddie Howe is the next man, that's good. Though I do hope he has a Plan B, plays the ball forwards and organises the defence, let alone make the signings we need in the first team.
I won't believe a word until it's official though. 249 days until contract expiry.
I just hope Wenger can avoid hitting the fuck up button by trying to bring back Giroud into the fold. We play with so much more rhythm with Sanchez upfront. The energy, off the ball movement, and reliability in front of goal. Everyone used to compliment Girouds 'hold up play', but why? Why hold the ball up, rather than keep it moving forward? When Giroud plays upfront, he puts the breaks on everything and everyone.
For me, the team is set as it is. Even Walcott is playing well now he has given up in trying to be a striker and realised his position is on the right. The only real debate is between Xhaka or Coquelin. But as far as Giroud coming back into the team....please no. I dont want his arrogance, flunking chances, slow play & holding the ball up. All Giroud is, is someone you throw on when its time to knock it long. Even absent Sanchez, I would much prefer Perez. Fuk sake, is prefer Chuba Akpom down the middle because of his playing style is more suited to the team.
Can Wenger muster of the strengh to freeze out Giroud?
This is a striker who has played 4 years at the club, and has never really gotten close to scoring 20 league goals.
You have the same thing at United, with Rooney needing to be frozen out. But Rooney has been there over 10 years and won multiple titles. Giroud my comparison is lightweight in terms of achievement, yet why is there this sentiment that Giroud is a 'big player & personality'?
For me its a non issue - Giroud is a plan C, just a long ball target man as a last resort. Yet I get the feeling Wenger could fuk up the rhythm by trying to force Giroud back into the fold.

Top post.
Le donkey should be nowhere near our starting 11. An absolute travesty that we've had to tread water for so long with that statue applying wenker's proverbial handbrake on most our attacks, or scuffing sitters served up on a platter to him.
But guess what, your exact sentiments here will be shared by others and it will reach the ears of the arrogant charlatan that picks the team. You can rest assured then that he'll revert to playing the lamppost upfront, as us peasants know fuck all about footie having not managed for 30 years in footie and thus have no business meddle in his team selection.

It's clear now that Lucas was bought as back up to Giroud. Wenger is waiting for Giroud to get back to full fitness before shoehorning him back in the team and moving Sanchez wide again. Can't fucking stand the useless c*nt.
Our season can be saved if he gets injured and Lucas does well when he plays. He must be thinking, why have they spent £17m on me to sit on the bench and start against lower league teams.

Toupée's and lies.......... etc etc.
I think is a better version
How about the original from a few years ago?
''Almunia's our keeper
Our defence is terrified''
He was soo bad, but I seem to remember he had one good season? He tended to get worse as the season went until by January he had normally knocked us out of every title chance, or at least it felt like that, him and gallas, some mighty captains
Wenger's deserved criticism in the past for his tactical shortcomings, but his team selection yesterday was perfect.
He deserves praise for sticking with Sanchez and his midfield choices were spot on.
Great energy from the first minute. A brilliant performance all round.
One of the best performances at the Emirates. Hope the momentum continues into next week.

For once i have to agree LG but the problem remains that this is AW we are talking about.
Unfortunately history dictates that far too often when things are working well he has to tinker to get his 'favourites' back into the team and it all goes to shit again.
He has a prime opportunity to keep things going forward as their seems to be a bit of a buzz in the team but i just know he will somehow conspire to screw it up, i hope he doesn't but as they say it's the hope that kills you
Wenger ego is massive. I just hope it works to our advantage this time. All the papers are complimenting him for 'converting' Sanchez into a striker. Saying it has parallels to converting Henry and RVP from wide players to strikers. Hopefully Sanchez as a striker is his new baby - his new project. Formerly, trying to convince everyone Giroud was a top class striker was his pet project, with dire consequences.
Sometimes this happens......he just stumbles across something and hits gold. Such as playing Coquelin and Bellerin - neither of which were promoted, but played due to injury and did well enough to render them un-dropable.
Sanchez as striker is because Giroud lack of match fitness and failure to sign a striker, other than Perez who was signed to late to start from the beginning. Now Sanchez is doing great, Wenger will assume to the role of 'genius' for converting him. But lets face it, he simply tripped over and fell into a pile of gold, again.
All he has to do, is bask in the compliments and admiration for converting Sanchez into a striker. Ill go along pretending he is a genius for converting Sanchez.
Yay, Wenger the genius who converted Sanchez into a striker. Which means, Sanchez plays upfront and Giroud watches on the sidelines.

Or gets brought on when the tempo gets too frenetic and zee handbrake needs applying.
I know it is churlish to complain when we stick it to The Chavs like we did but I have asked this question before..... why can we never truly get revenge?? We turned Chavski inside out in the first 45, Watford a few weeks back, Man.U last season.... what does Wenger say to them at half time?? Why do we not stick another 3 past them in the 2nd half??? I just don't get it, do they get the job done speech at halftime, let's watch out for the backlash, lets hang on to what we have.........???
Love to see us turn teams like Man.U & the Chavs 6-0 like they did to us instead of going out in the second half trying desperately to hang on to a 3 goal cushion.
