For the first time since 2004 we have a solid defence. It took over 10 years to achieve this but we tend to win things with a solid defence.
Gabriel was a bad buy but luckily we signed Mustafi. It's made a huge impact to the team and who knows.
Wengers time is almost up because of age so I'm more interested in seeing how this team perform all season. It's a big improvement on last season so far. Burnley will beat a lot of top teams at thier home ground this season. It wasn't a great performance but winning 1 v 0 very good.

Nauseating mostly. :puke:

But one nice bit at the end when Henry asked Wenger three quick fire stats questions. One was "Who did you use the most as a sub in the 20 years?" Wenger said "Walcott?"

When Henry told him it had in fact been Bergkamp the look of shock on Wenger's face was priceless! "Bergkamp??!!" he exclaimed. "140 times" Henry replied. "But the game was probably won by that stage".

It was nice to see the level of respect they still have for God10. 8)
He was soo good, he was never out making an idiot of himself or giving crap Interviews, just turned up and was brilliant, he knew how to hurt a defender with skill, and occasionally his elbow if he needed, he had everything .

Did he also ask him 'So, Big Brother, why did you tell me to quit Sky, effectively forcing me out of the club?'

It's great to see Mustafi do so well. It's clear Koscielny needs a leader next to him.

That said, seeing as we don't train defence or set pieces, it's only a matter of time before we revert to type and our alleged 'full-backs' and midfield hang our CBs out to dry again. Any sane person knows you build from the back; whereas TOF only cares about the midfield.

From todays Daily Mail online...

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis received an extraordinary annual bonus of more than £1million in a year when the club won no silverware and commercial revenues were flat.
In total, Gazidis was paid a whopping package of £2.648m, making him the second highest paid football club executive in the Premier League behind Manchester United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Anyone else starting to worry about Bellerin, Ozil and Sanchez's contracts?
