If all CL group games were Grade B regardless of the teams then I could accept that. as a non season ticket holder I looked at the prices of this game (£70+ for what is effectively a meaningless match in a competition we have no hope of winning) and next week (£10 for a competitive quarter final cup match in probably the only competition we can win)

It's ludicrous that these dead rubber and boring group stage games are priced that expensively. As you say, the pricing pretty much guarantees that the club/TOF will prioritize a dead rubber in the unwinnable Be All and End All over a game in a winnable competition like the League Cup. It also seems he's gone back to having a semi-pubber side in the League Cup - after taking it somewhat seriously for a few years - ensuring we will never win it under him.

I view the qualifying rounds as the 'real' Champions League. The rest is just a money-making exercise.
