THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Three points of top of the table.
Through to the QF of the League Cup.

Everyone rushes to their keyboard to moan and bitch
Not one hint of positivity.

I know we all take the pizza outta Giroud well I say 'all' there are exceptions like wenger & wilson who have not a clue about football & footballers, but fair do's to the lampost he has come off the bench to score a couple of times now...so can't really criticise him too much. :?

yeah exactly :)

Arsenal's recent seasons are like episodes of Last of the Summer Wine. Every bloody week someone would find themselves racing downhill in a wheelbarrow and ending up in a haystack. The audience that howled with laughter, despite how many times they had seen this same thing happen before, are a lot like the fans that are able to maintain some enthusiasm even when watching the same season unfold over and over.

It amazes me that people appear to think being positive is something you can just turn on and off when you choose to. If you have to force yourself to be positive then it doesnt really count.

As for the modern fanbase, if keyboards and internet etc. had been around in the 70s and 80s I'm pretty sure there would have been plenty of negativity. At least back then the seasons had a bit of variety though.

The modern fanbase more resembles a North Korean rally.

The difference being in North Korea if they do not attend to praise their leader they are shot and their family tortured...whereas with wengerites sheeple they simply do not have a fucking iota of sense between them.

To be blunt, you represent the modern fan base more than anyone on here, blindly supporting your Lord and God Wenger even though he will make the same mistakes this season that he has made EVERY SINGLE YEAR more or less for a decade now. So maybe drop the cunty superfan snide remarks aimed at people that have mostly spent a lot more time money and effort supporting Arsenal than you have. Here's how this season will pan out;

Unbeaten since the opening w/e - Too many poor draws, and the losses will come. Again.
Through to the KO stage of the CL - knocked out by first half decent team we meet. Again.
Three points of top of the table - will be 10 to 20 points off the winners in May. Again.
Through to the QF of the League Cup - will be knocked out in QF or SF. Again.

I will take €100 of anyone's money on that. Why? Because that is more or less what happens EVERY SEASON.

And we should be "positive" about that?

BBC Website Gossip Column:

"Arsenal are keen to sign Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but will not meet the 23-year-old's £85m release clause. (Goal)"

:coffeespit: . :coffeespit: . :coffeespit:. :coffeespit: . :coffeespit:

Oh! My ribs - Priceless... Wenger being linked with a player who's asking price/buy out clause is £85million...

Think i might start watching the ladies instead, it can't be any worse than the turgid shit being served up by the first team under Wenger :barscarf:

Wenger, coming up against Claude Puel, who was his former player and coach at Monaco, slapped his protege on the back as the final whistle blew.

First-half goals from Jordy Clasie and Ryan Bertrand set Southampton up for a semi-final against Liverpool.

Puel revealed afterwards that Wenger told him ‘to go on and win this cup, get to the final’.

Puel should have said..."We'd love to win it, what would be your advice about the best way to do that"???

Typical Wenger, fails his entire fanbase, yet magnanimously gives his young, adoring "protege" a pat on the back. What a dreadful, dreadful manager this man has become. How about an apology!!

He also said elsewhere...... They were more incisive & fitter than us. FITTER???? It's the beginning of December!!
