THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For the record, can I just say that it is my feeling on the notion that people that do not conform to the majority on here are not wanted, is absolute crap - for years here I was in the minority by an absolute mile, and at no stage was I threatened with expulsion or made feel that I wasn't welcomed here. What I did was debated my points with the conviction I felt was necessary, and by and large (with the odd exception) I didn't get into an insulting or name calling hissy fit. It was quickly made clear to me what is expected of me on here and how things work, and I accepted that without insult and accepted it cos I realized that I was a newbie and needed to prove myself so to speak

Now things have totally reversed and the wob are very much in the majority here (that's not me saying that I was right all along though  ), and it seems to me that those who still support wenker want to play the victim card and claim that they are not wanted or made to feel welcome on here - do you think that the regulars should cast aside their passionate viewpoints just to roll out the red carpet for the wenker supporters ? A few years ago it would probably been easier to debate many of the wob than it is now, but you have to realise and accept that anger and frustration amongst the Gooner fanbase is probably the highest it has been for the past 35 years. If people want to support wenker then that is fine with me, but do so based on sensible reasoned points (trophies won over a decade ago does not qualify, and the 20 years in champs league stinks of a premier league Gooner).

Obviously this isn't aimed at the new poster cos I still believe that he is a wum, but is aimed at the long term members who seem to think that this is a communist state where total agreement is needed to be accepted
100% bang on augie. There was a chap (Bendtner's Drinking Buddy??) used to come on here and defend Wenger with intelligent reasoned arguments and very seldom resorted to insults - if ever. I think in the end even he might have given up on Wenger.

And it should be noted that there is not a single one of us who at some point didn't loved Wenger and rate him as a great manager - any true Gooner who says they never rated Wenger ever is a bullshitter. Sure we all fell out of love with him at different times, but at some point we all rated him. What the AKB seem to miss is that Wenger is no longer a great manager, those days are long gone.

There you again..insults to something I have Not said...I simply put them on here so that if they chose people could watch them.

having said that - Both Carragher (aka: scouse twat) and Merse both make very valid points the same kind of points that many on here have also and continue to make.

If you watch their mystified, exasperation when trying to convey their opinions - which as pundits - they have been asked to make...they reflect exactly the way I and many other Gooners feel - Both mystified and exasperated at the Fact that Wenger is still allowed to be manager of The Arsenal whilst failing miserably to deliver on the promise he makes year on year.

as for trying to throw insults if you continue along that path people will simpy stop engaging with you and eventually you will be removed for Wumming.

So please present a step by step polemic as to why it is you believe Wenger is still the right person for the job.

Best post of the lot. I also think he is a WUM, have from the get go. Nobody can be that stupid, if he is for real, and this is how the AKB's behave, I can see why they don't allow banners. Basically you need to listen to their opinion, if you don't there will be trouble.....

Wenger playing the 2nd choice keeper in an important CL knock out tie sums up his attitude towards the importance of the goalkeeper in a team & his real motives in this competition. :banghead:

He only want's to get the CL qualification & group stage prize money & treats the last 16 like the FA Cup.

Scousers & Chavs have both won this competition finishing outside the top four, so it is possible to win. But Wenger makes excuses & concentrates on top four places & the cash. :cussing:

Most proper old school fans would rather win the European Cup & finish outside the top 4, apart from Wenger & his crazy moonie cult!

think Ospina is better than Cech....more agile, although not ideal and prone to mistakes admittedly

Merse in that video reminds me of me, trying to argue with akbs after I've been on the piss all day....I know what I want to say, but can't transfer it to my mouth. How the fuck he's employed as a pundit is beyond me....not the most articulate bloke!!

As for carragher....I didn't watch it, as his voice makes me want to cut my ears off and pour bleach into the holes

Yes have to agree - cech was once Superb...Now??? - Sadly I think Maureen saw wenger coming and thought Ohhh! Yess another chance to have one over on the *word censored*... :?

Cech is too inconsistent for such a highly rated Keeper. sad but true...he has been making rookie maistakes this season as well.

If so, why didn't Wenger give Ospina a game against Hull before throwing him into such an important match?

Wenger's only in this competition for the cash. :cussing:

If the scousers & chavs can win it from outside the top four why can't we? :barscarf:

:rubchin: Because the messiah is flawed, never learns from his mistakes & doesn't have the organisation, motivation, tactical & defensive coaching skills needed to win the European Cup that's fucking why!
