Reading this guy's posting style reminds me a lot of baba. Even if he claims to have differing opinions, I think someone is having a laugh here

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Absolutely agree. From 2008-2012 I and a small number of other regulars on the AWIMB Forum had come to the conclusion that Wenger's time was up. We were in the minority and roundly abused and ridiculed by a nucleus of Wenger fanatics on that board. I could have left, they could have banned me, but I stayed and fought my corner and it is now a much easier place to visit than it was during those years, believe me. Some of the most abusive of those people have now slithered away. It would be hypocritical of me to support calls for someone who takes a very different view to be banned or excluded. He seems capable of putting his case intelligently. His achilles heel is that while he claims to agree that bumping along in Champions' League places is not good enough for Arsenal he is unable to put forward compelling evidence that we are likely to become Champions again under Wenger's management. Those of us who want him gone accept there is absolutely no guarantee that a new manager would deliver immediately, but there is at least a reasonable hope that he would do so, based on our own past experience including Wenger's own appointment 20 years ago and the current examples of Chelsea and PSG.
Hope in what we might become trumps fear of what might become of us every time.

I know what you mean - a newbie started in the work place - he's a scouser and of course knows everything about everything - we've already nicknamed him google..silus wrote:OneBardGooner wrote:PARDON!!!?????????????????silus wrote:Merse in that video reminds me of me, trying to argue with akbs after I've been on the piss all day....I know what I want to say, but can't transfer it to my mouth. How the fuck he's employed as a pundit is beyond me....not the most articulate bloke!!
As for carragher....I didn't watch it, as his voice makes me want to cut my ears off and pour bleach into the holes....well anything is better than listening to that fucking accent!!
When he talks - just like all scousers - it sounds as if someone has glued their top & bottom teeth together and they have a mouthful of Phlegm they are trying to gargle simultaneously whilst spouting utter drivel -

Wow this thread has rocketed into 1900 + pages rather quickly, when it hits 1996 can we please leave that whole page to rjm1985 so he can pay tribute to Wenger as a mark of respect, thank you in advance for your compliance

Also I think we should set aside page 1993 to celebrate the season when football began.

Just spent the last 20 minutes reading back through the last few pages....wish I hadn't bothered

Still I came across the above nugget which may have broken into my top 5 favourite ever comments from on here.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Rjm1985-do you honestly feel qualifying for the champions league consecutively for 20 years is better than winning it twice?
At least you have provided us with something different to read on the wenger thread instead of the monotonous (although justifiable and accurate) moaning
Also interesting to see on the other, now locked thread that wenger has 100% backing from this forum to sign a new contract!

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
By the way mods it's an absolute travesty that there's currently a poll on the main page that is 100% in favour of Wenger staying on at the end of the season.
No point bragging about being able to post in locked threads unless you're willing to do something bloody productive with it.
I implore you please - Vote early and vote often

There has been a Trumptard-like swing in the polls!

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
OK so first of all I'd like to apologies for any insults, that is not on and I accept that. It was reactionary to the abuse I felt I was getting from the get go but still doesn't make it right.
Now back to the point at hand and hopefully we can get some serious and meaningful debate occurring, I believe Wenger should be given another year contract extension out of respect for being the greatest manager we have ever had and bringing some of the greatest players we have ever had to the club. He should be allowed to stay to facilitate the resigning of Sanchez and Ozil, who I'm convinced will both leave at the end of the season if Wenger goes too.
