THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Classic Stockholm syndrome, they've fallen in love with the geezer who's had them chained to the radiator for the last decade.

Mutual decision? For fucks sake he should be sacked. What a disgrace and joke this weak board are. For what it's worth I reckon Gazidis wants Wenger gone. I think he's over his bullshit.

I heard this earlier...what bothers me is if they are only going to make a decision at end of season and he does go, who is going to be sitting around hopefully waiting for Arsenal to come calling?? Nobody decent that's for sure...

Talksport were absolutely banging on about Wenger having to tell us NOW, right now, if he's leaving or not. Then they started talking about Fat Sam as a replacement...so I turned it off.

As a matter of interest why is a massive business waiting on a failing employee to tell them if he's leaving or staying?? Shouldn't it be the other way around.

I don't understand the idea of this being a mutual decision. Someone has the final say either way, whether it is Wenger, Kroenke or Gazidis. What happens if Wenger decides the right thing to do is stay but the board don't think he should. Are the going to let him stay or pull the trigger? Either way that isn't a mutual decision.

My feeling is the opposite, the rumours from earlier in the season about us sounding out new managers have dried up. If we were still looking at other options (or even got someone lined up) there is no way they'd be able to keep it quiet in today's media/social media circus.

Funny thing is,it's le fartpipes arrogance which has ultimately cost him top4  I'm sure if he had come out and said he was fucking off a couple of months back we would be about 10pts better off
The man is cuckoo

But you're talking about the most secretive club in world football. After Brom, the Tuchel rumours resurfaced and then was quickly quelled by the club. They are certainly not sitting on their arses waiting for the old fraud to up sticks. Gazidis certainly wouldn't. The media are ignoring his recent clarification and focusing on Le fraud's comments despite ample evidence that he's a lying and scheming bastard because it helps whip the fans into a frenzy and sells papers.

I think that they use word 'mutual' in public just because out of respect to Wenger. My arse feeling is that he is told to fuck off at the end of season because if it was up to wenger alone he'd announced that he's staying already. The man knows no shame and announcing new contract from his part wouldn't be that hard, no matter what the circumstances are. Also, I believe that the contract can't be signed as it should have been made public because of stock market regulations.

At least here's one hoping because anything else would be unthinkable.

Because he's been told to fuck off at the end of season and he doesn't have the stomach to say it out loud. Or they have to wait until the club has secured new contract for new manager. He's going.

I still can't really believe he will go at the end of the season, but looking at it as a 'conspiracy theory', it rings true. If there really is no contract offer on the table, then perhaps they are letting him go and no wonder TOF refuses to discuss it. He is likely deluded into thinking it really will be a mutual decision (to stay on) at the end of the season, whereas Gazidis has probably finally broken though to the board that to keep him is to keep a specialist in failure. This season's collapse is yet more proof and has been perfectly timed at that.

Dare we dream? :?
