Some of the biggest lies the Arsenal PR machine trots out is about the No Money V War Chest .
Wenger has gone so far as to suggest the club almost couldn't pay the Wages at one point .
I accept he hasn't had the Budget of chelsea or manure but there was some money but instead he blew the budget on overpaying mediocre minions.
Sanchez is a world class player who wants to win the big prizes but he now realises that won't be at Arsenal which is why he wants to leave .

DB10 will be happy about this, just taken a bet on Lacazette to outscore Lukaku in the PL next season. Even though I rate Lukaku £70m is a ridic fee.

Plastic mancs say that is the going rate, what does that make Griezmann worth then!
I think for an English club buying a young striker who is a full international from another English club it is the going rate. Lets face it Bournemouth bought the Chelsea reserve Ake for £20million

the only thing that I agree with Wenger on is the ridiculous transfer prices.

lower transfer prices/wages would mean cheaper ticket prices - football these days is just a con.

Lukaku & Lacazette are good players but they are not the truly world class talents their transfer prices would have you believe.

Pretty scary if that is the going rate for lukak. What does that make Sanchez worth if he had more than 1 year left on his contract.

Premiership greed I'm afraid, they are happy to take billions from Sky/BT.
When everyone knows the clubs have hundred of millions to spend the transfer fee and wages are going to be ridiculous.

The ticket prices are based on supply and demand and unfortunately there is still a big demand for our tickets.
On this subject, Metallica have sold out two show at the o2 where standing is an eye-watering £85 - supply and demand.

In fairness though, Metallica live are worth every cent. Modern Arsene FC, on the other hand... :|

They are good, seen them loads of times, but I refuse to pay £85 to see them (or any band), just like I refuse to pay CAT A prices to watch the Arsenal.

BBC Website: "Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez, 28, is demanding £400,000 a week in wages to stay at the club, an increase of £125,000 a week on his current deal. (Daily Mirror)"

Just feckin' pay him.

OR

As a colleague said, that looks like John Cwoss doing his masters bidding with dis-information etc - So that when Alexis leaves wengercunt can say he was being 'unreasonable' in his contract & wage demands.

NOTHING would surprise me when it comes to wengercunt being and doing underhand things to make out he did all he could.

Story smells a bit like club sponsored misinformation, "greedy bastard wants mad money", so when we sell him it's because he was being unrealistic with his wage demands, cue $anche$ comments from the sheep

Hmmm.... so stories being circulated (leaked by AFC?), that Sanchez is demanding £400K a week, coincidence this happens just after we sign Lacazette (replacement?).

Call me cynical but...

:rubchin:

OK you are a cynical but

One thing I will say in Arsenal's favour, they have a bargain in Lacazette :barscarf:

Because if the Mancs are insane enough to splurge 75£ million on Lukaku, Lacazette must be one of the buys of the year.

Lukaku is decent ish but he's barely worth half what they have paid.

On that ranking Sanchez must be worth 150£ million.

Anything credible on other possible signings, only really seeing speculative clickbait at the moment, really slow transfer window all round

As long as we create chances, Lacazette will bury them. We haven't had a finisher/goal poacher in the side for years. We can now sell Giroud to anyone who is stupid enough to pay £20m for his services, and keep Welbeck as a back up.

Our slow demise over the last 10-12 years has been down to the lower quality of player throughout the squad and that is mainly down to one thing, money. Remember all of Wenger's successful sides where not coached in a traditional sense. We still need a DM and possibly one more defender.

I am not saying this will translate into a PL winning campaign but finally getting Lacazette, in relation to what we have can only be a step in the right direction.
Absolute rubbish! He has money available for the last 3 or 4 seasons at least.
cant believe people still think we had no money when gazidis and ken friar have said on more than one occasion that there was money but wenger wouldn't spend it
We have always had plenty of money to spunk on preposterous salaries for numb nut idiots like Bendtner and Denielson and Song whilst being assured by Wenger that bringing in anyone different - read better - would 'kill their career'.

As it was, no assassin was required ; as they did it themselves.
Been saying it for years (as have many on here) the money was always there to improve the squad, Wenger refused to spend it on big signings and instead spent it badly on average and rubbish players, because his ego dictated he could take these useless players, pay them way over the odds in salaries and turn them into superstars. And he failed. Repeatedly. And he extended their contracts with pay rises. Repeatedly. :x

Nutflush - I cannot believe you are spouting the old "he had no money" rubbish. I honestly thought that myth had been totally blown out of the water by now. Even most AKB won't try that argument anymore when defending their lord and master, Kim Jong-Wenger. :|
Sorry to be a cant DB but this AKB is not disputing the fact that he has had the money to buy big the last 3 or 4 seasons but the 6 seasons before that the accounts show that he broke even or in profit on transfer deals every season and why he was doing that he was also getting the profit from finishing as high as possible and the CL money which was needed after the move ,no doubt he was overpaying some of the dross like you say but I have no doubt that he acheived what was best for our long term future at that time
