As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
the club are trying to sell rodgers via the mouthpiece (John Cross) and he's already dividing the fanbase. They're looking for a Wenger 2.0, a yes man that will get us top 4 while selling bullshit dreams of more.
If we're actually trying to be a comeptitive club Allegri is a no fucking brainer. Young enough to come in and build something new but also a proven winner that can bring a new mentality to the club. Some *word censored* are demanding Vieira our fanbase
Enrique now clear favourite with bookies to get the job. Rodgers still drifting.
I’m gonna open a book on how long it takes for there to be a “Enrique out” thread.
I am totally opposed to enrique - in my opinion we need a total change of direction, and that means bringing in a manager that demands some physicality and not more tippy tappy shite

Tippy tappy is fine as long as it is executed in the right way with the right players. Guardiola proven it works in the Bundesliga and now in the PL. With the summer recruitment for city, I expect them to become more tippy tappy than ever over the next few years.

Guardiola has proven that it works when you have top quality players in every position and some hard as nails b**tards in key positions too - we neither have the quality of players required, nor the tough b**tards to supplement them
Tippy tappy as played bay Barcelona and Pep teams is as much about off the ball movement as it is short passing. Barcelona use the 7 second rule - every time the ball is lost, every player must sprint like mad and close the nearest player down, this running goes for 7 seconds and if the ball is not won back in 7 seconds after losing it, only then do Barcelona fall back into a defensive shape.
Wenger was not a manager skilled in the art of fast passing football. He was a simply a fan of it and tried his best to play it here at Arsenal.
His best team was a fast counter attacking team, where every player was over 6ft tall (except for Cashley). The ball went form one end to the other in a flash.
Why he went the way of this tippy tapp shit I dont know. I can only imagine he saw the plaudits Barcelona were getting and his ego wanted some of it.

Yeah pressing high up the pitch is a big part of it, early Wenger teams used to do that. I never figured out why with the exception of Sanchez in recent seasons we don’t bother with the high press. Pool do it very well.
Barça also had a ball winner in Mascherano, without ball winners in your team and the high press tippy tappy doesn’t work as we seen with Arsenal.
