I think that whomever it is is still with another club. If it was Enrique or Ancelotti, we could announce it as soon as this week.

I really don't want Enrique for the same reasons that others have already posted. Any manager, bar Wenger, would do quite well with Messi, Neymar and Suarez in their team. I am less than impressed with his record elsewhere.

So I think that the club are showing Stoke some respect when they announce that Mark Hughes will take over at the end of the season.

Sums him up. Any good Director of Football type person would probably stroll down the corridor to his office and tell him to mind his own fucking business / take a dump on his desk or something along those lines.

Hopefully that's just Skysports News understands: 'we're talking serious bollocks.'

ffs, Arsenal isn't a toy, this isn't pep taking over messi, eto'o and henry. This is some serious sh1t we're in.

The worry is where the fuck is the footballing knowledge coming from on the board? There isn’t any.

You just hope that they will choose the easy option and go for a big name - Allegri, Ancelotti or Enrique. I’m not keen on the latter and I’d love Simeone but don’t think the board would be bold enough.

The worry is if they want to be innovative or cheap and go for somebody like an Arteta or a Rodgers. This is absolutely not the time for a speculative appointment who will take time to embed his philosophy. Despite his experience at Barcelona I would avoid Enrique for this reason.

Having Vieira involved is a nice sentiment but it would be a massive punt that frankly we’re not really in a strong enough position to take. Maybe in 2-3 years time if Ancelotti comes in for a short-term fix.

According to Sky Sports, Ivan Gazidis wants Mikel Arteta to replace Wenger. Raul Sanllehi wants Luis Enrique & Sven Mislintat favours Julian Nagelsmann or Domenico Tedesco. Rafa Benitez & Brendan Rodgers are not thought to be strong candidates.

Or I can see us going for Conte, just as the Chavs get the next 'top' manager coming out of Italy, we'll get their reject.

Welcome to life after Wenger but STILL a KSE inc. sporting franchise, I don't expect it to get any better.

If Gazidis appoints Arteta, he should be next out the door. It would be truly a diabolical choice considering the amount of good coaches out there.

If that is the shortlist, let Milintat decide. Nagelsmann plays with two strikers.

No shame in getting Conte. He's still a top quality manager.

If it's Arteta, I can only imagine that the sewing machine thread will continue to grow. It is such an uninspired choice. So what if he worked a year under Pep, we are going to end up with a cheap imitation of Pep. What's the point?

We’ve already got one Chelsea reject in goals who hasn’t worked out fantastically well...

I think Conte is a good manager but he is somewhat damaged goods. It’s a matter of time before he gets the sack there.

Board would never touch him in a million years as he is far too volatile, would only come if he was given a guaranteed huge transfer budget and would be very vocal if he felt that the board weren’t being 100% supportive.
