That's always been what I've wondered. Why the fuck did he 'revolutionise' English football when he was paid to manage Arsenal? The *word censored* always seemed to be more interested in spreading his fucking own gospel version of football than doing what was best for the club he was paid a fucking fortune to manage?clockender1 wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 8:16 pmand thats all he did. he revolutionized English Football by paying attention to diet, but that was something already done across the globe.StuartL wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 8:05 pmI hope it’s room temperature ?
That’s another thing that annoyed me - we had Bergkamp and Platt, seasoned professionals who had played in Italy and no doubt were well versed in looking after their bodies, yet it’s Wenker who came in after them who got praised for taking away the tomato sauce![]()
after that he did bugger all for us or European Football.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
To be fair it wasn't that nobody else was doing these things, the success was getting old school English footballers who had won basically everything despite eating shit etc etc to come round to this new thinking about how they ate, drank, trained and lived. Which then spread to the rest of the country.
It sounds obvious when you boil it down to him telling people to eat better but he did prompt a change in English football. For me, the far bigger thing was the way he came in and brought in players nobody had heard of from the French and Italian league, whilst competitors were reliant on signing players from Premier League rivals.
The problem was that once other teams caught up, Wenger stood still and watched as they surpassed him. It wasn't that the French league stopped producing good players - other clubs were just interested and paying more money. Chelsea built the bedrock of that class 2005 side around players from the French league - Cech, Essien and Drogba - as well as Lampard and Terry. We've been shopping in the same sort of league as Newcastle for the last few years.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
lol all you lot getting excited because SFB has finally left, little did you know wiggy c*nt and his chief eunuch, Ivan the terrible, were going to appoint rookie Arteta as his replacement.
We might as well rename the corporation/club Arsenal Red Sox or something, we're a f*cking joke American franchise, not even an especially good one.

Now change the title to The Arteta Thread. Up against managers like pep and Klopp I don't see any good times ahead.
No experience and a yes man to Gazidis and the board.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Completely agree with you there. It was always pathetic to see idiots from the south supporting the bin dippers / manure - depending on your era - and a bunch of Japanese / Thai / Singaporean / Chinese / fucking wherever waving Arsenal scarves is just as sad and leaves me cold. Then there are the complete fuckwits who wave Wenker scarves.......apparently they aren't all from AsiaBob Bayliss wrote: ↑Sun May 13, 2018 8:04 pmI feel for Arsenal supporters under 30 who don't remember what a great club we were before he arrived. They will have been brainwashed into believing he built the club and that he was our greatest manager. He was never that, even in his first decade.
I would gladly sacrifice some of our "worldwide fanbase" just to go back to being the club I recognise. It's been a very long time.

Please don't do it. Wenger may still end up some shit hole as a manager and sure as fuck there will be enough to discuss and banter about him.flash gunner wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 11:40 amCeremonial locking at midday tomorrow ok with everyone?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
If/when he goes somewhere else to manage I will be going out of my way to watch the games and hope he gets stuffed and will be posting on here celebrating his further demise

I'll take out a subscription to the Chinese super league if need be!
I'm way too bitter to just draw a line in the sand and let bygones be bygones - the quest for his total ridicule and humiliation continues.
