the comments section is quite telling though - the brexiteers have finally gone quiet (much like on here) as reality starts to bite.
this following comment from a leaver sums things up best I think.

I cannot believe that there is anyone left in this country that believes this Government is capable of a) negotiating it's way out of a paper bag, b) looking after anyone's interests apart from making sure it is lining the pockets of it's rich members like £250m JRM. By now it is becoming obvious they only want to brexit to make money for themselves, why else are they advising all their clients with money to move it out of the country. The only way this country will remain competitive is if they ditch workers rights, like minimum wage, sick pay maternity and paternity leave. The NHS is on its knees, our army is a joke and welfare is crumbling. I voted to leave because I believed them, but god now we are seeing the truth I know how bad it is going to be. And for all those Pensioners who fondly think of the 70's as a golden time, wake up and smell the coffee, I wouldn't be so smug they will come after the triple lock soon. And before anyone accuses me of being the loony left, I think JC is just as bad, he has this dream and the only way he can get people to back it is if he help the Tories flush the country down the pan so that what he offers looks attractive. Personally I now think we deserve the right to see what the deal is and have our say as to whether we accept it or reject it because I wouldn't trust those self serving hypocrites further than I can throw them. I'm sure some of you agree and some of you are too wedded to the cult of brexit and the web of lies to see sense. But if you agree we should get to make the decision then sign this www.peoples-vote.uk/petition

The current Government has done nothing to move us towards Brexit and are no nearer to a white paper because the Government is so weak it could fail at any time ,dismantled from within it's own ranks ,If it produces a Paper that its own side don't like they will overturn it .
There have been no negotiations with the EU at all save agreeing to pay them more than we were going to because of this and this uncertainty is what is hurting our economy right now more than anything .
Labour are no better as Corbyn has no control of his Mp's either which is very worrying ,looking at Corbyn gawping speechless as the trogladyte Dyer ripped them a new arsehole was a sad sight .His approach seems to be let the Tories blow up and Il get in and .............. no plan , just let me be PM .
All of this is great news to Brussels as it will further delay and stall the process.
The net result will be that we wont be leaving the Eu in any meaningful way and we will be worse off for it which is what I said about this on this very forum when the referendum was announced !
The concept of Brexit and the practicalities of doing it have proved beyond us as a nation to deliver which is music to the ears of the Banks because it is they Banks that prop up the whole rotten corrupt system and vice versa !
It is a sorry state of affairs that we live in a country that is not allowed to dictate it's own future ,but is held to ransom but a bunch o'cants

Meanwhile people like you who voted Leave will be left with the consequences of voting leave - a Brexit which as you say will leave us worse off.
the rich will be untouched and in many cases benefit from it. Leavers have just destroyed the futures of many ordinary people in the country though.
Well done!

Bizarre situation where we have the leaders of the two main political parties who are anti-EU but for the sake of their own political careers pretended in a non-committal way to oppose leaving.
Pity that this government is such a shower of shit and the majority of the Tory party is looking after its own interests and staying well clear.

what Leavers still do not seem to understand is how complicated it is to leave the EU, and the huge negative consequences that there will be.
the Leavers should have had a plan for Brexit on 23 June 2016. they didn't - in fact that coward Nigel Farage ran away straight away.

But what was Farage supposed to do? He didn't suddenly win power as per a General Election so was always going to be marginalized at the end of the day. So who was supposed to have the big plan? Dodgy Dave didn't think for a minute that the public had the balls to vote out after they had been told the world would end if they did. Those that voted leave were sending a pretty clear message to the government of the day that they wanted out of the EU so it was the governments job to do the deal. It was that twat Cameron that fucked off. Unfortunately the ruling class in this country don't like to listen to somebody else's point of view much less act on it. May and her cronies don't actually want to leave or put in the leg work to make it happen and it has been made ridiculously difficult given the refusal of many remainers to accept a democratic result - they are doing Brussels dirty work for them.
Here's one for you Rob - would you rather throw your support behind Brexit to try and make it a success or would you rather oppose it and contribute to a fucked up deal which might actually effect your lifestyle more than whatever Brexit finally looks like.

I will continue to oppose Brexit because it will be a disaster for the country - no way I’m getting behind any form of Brexit.
Leavers would have done the same had it been 52-48 the other way. Farage clearly said that it would be unfinished business had it been 52-48 the other way and he would have kept on wantIng Brexit. No different to me opposing Brexit. This is how things work in a democracy.
Anyway the referendum was only advisory, it was never binding. Now that we all know what a fuck up it will be anyone still wanting Brexit must be brain dead

Re: The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
If these new proposals are accepted by the E.U . Rob and his cohorts should really be happy bunnies today. It would seem that we will remain under the yoke of the E.U in everything but name.
We will still be in a customs union all dressed up with a new name but will still see us making payments to their coffers.
We are getting regulatory alignment which means having to accept the E.U standards with the E.U still ruling the roost.
However we will have the ability to cut deals with the rest of the world providing that we do not undercut the E.U which doesn't really sound like we are taking control but Olly Robbins is placing his order for more rubber stamps as we speak.
Then preferential access , a synonym for Free movement.
I fear a blood letting at the next election and a door opening to an even worse fate as momentum will make their move.
We will have a population totally disillusioned with the Tories , Corbynistas and Blairites at each others throats and the E.U laughing all the way to the bank.
In the meantime our farmers and fishermen will continue to get screwed and we will still be paying tarrifs on food coming from poor counties keeping the rich - rich and the rest of us -----. Who cares , the I'm all right jack class don't give a toss.
I heard Cable this morning stating that we should stay in the E.U and reform it from within . Well tell that to the Greeks , Italians , Hungarians and Polish . Dig up Maggie and hear what she thinks , ask Cameron and all the rest that thought that . The E.U juggernaut just rolled over everyone that tries , they have their project and will never deviate .
1 world order similar to that portrayed by Orwell , Kallergi , and required by Bilderberg, Rothschild and the like.

Re: The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
well the EU won't accept them, but even if they did then I would not be happy - there is no good Brexit, the only good Brexit is a NO BREXIT.
As I keep saying Brexit is unworkable because you leavers all want different things. Theresa May has presented her version, it is still "Brexit" yet you are still not happy, I reckon the only chance of a Brexit along the lines of what you want is to get rid of Theresa May (now possible because David Davis has quit) and get a Brexiteer as PM. However there are not enough hard Brexiteers in Parliament so you will need to have a 2nd refrendum on this and let the people decide whether they want to go ahead with a hard Brexit (the only Brexit acceptable to the EU) or for the UK to stay in the EU.
If I can see what an actual Brexit looks like and there is a vote on it then I will accept "the will of the people".
I can't accept the 2016 vote because it wasn't and still isnt clear what Brexit will actually look like.
