Cole was stuck in traffic on the Blackstock Road and suffering some verbal grief from a few fans. Apparently, he got out of his motor and fronted them, stating that they should not believe everything they read in the papers.

Having said that, the meeting with Mourinho in early 2005 was no press invention. Question is, are Arsenal fans willing to forgive and forget?

I think the truth of the matter is that Ash is just pretty dim and easily mis-led by his agent, whose financial interest is in Cole moving. So, probably Jonathan Barnett responsible for the current wave of stories. My advice to Ashley - if you know what's good for you, ditch your agent. You earn enough money for a left-back, stop making yourself unpopular by letting him pull the strings without any consideration for your standing amongst supporters. And drop all these legal actions to concentrate on what you are good at.
