Kos refuses to travel to US for pre season tour

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What the fuck is this all about
Statement from Arsenal

Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour.

We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.

We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time
Looks like they are trying to invoke a contract break against him. Why else would they make this shit public?

Also we have a captain thread and a preseason thread rodders you utter cùnt. :censored:

More hilarity from the #1 banter club.

He wanted to go, why not just sell him at a low price and get him off the wage bill?, we value him at £10M apparently, well nobody else does!, especially not after that sh*t show in the Europa final.

He's way past his best (which was fairly average), now we've made a big drama out of it, yes it's partly his fault but this is also down to being such a cheapskate operation that those KSE w@nkers run.

So what was the plan?, keeping him when he's on his last legs because we 'can't afford' anyone better?.

Just get relegated please if it means wiggy out. Joke club.

No way is he worth any less than £10m - look around you and see the price on shit average players, and then you look at kos who, 12 months ago would have been an automatic starter in france's successful world cup squad only for his injury, and you would have to think that £10m is a bargain

He's been a fucking liability during his time here so I won't lose any sleep if we binned him. He's only going to get worse due to his injuries anyway, so best to get as much for him as we can!

Seems that he wanted to go last summer when Wenger was leaving but yet another long-term injury prevented the move. Of course he was happy to then stay while the club paid his wages and nursed him back to fitness though.

Whatever the truth is with this thing today, it doesn't reflect well on either club or player. Although the fact that Koscielny has been at the club for 9 years and is now the club captain doesnt reflect well on the club either. He simply does not have the mentality or leadership qualities to captain a club like Arsenal.

Koscielny is a typical example of the latter Wenger era. An overpaid, overrated injury-prone flake.

He Knows he's past it! Past his best, past being worthy of the Captaincy of the Top Club Arsenal are supposed to be.

He Knows 32 yr old Giroud got past 33 yr old Koscielny to break the ICE in the UEL Final in Baku, he feels guilty, all the Arsenal officials mull over it & forget

but he feels responsible, as a CAPTAIN Should be.

He knows Arsenal need to Improve the Defense, to move foward, & we need to Appoint Sokratis Captain,

Thats why he's refusing to go on Tour, THE NEW TEAM has a New Captain, in his Absence on Tour it will be Evident,

But more so Lauren wants Arsenal to succeed & move Foward, as all the other 'TOP6' Sides are, with Youth & Strength.

& Sokratis needs another Young Experienced Partner at CB. Mustafi is INEPT!, I hope we move on Mustafi & Xhaka this Summer.

Thanks Koscielny for standing up for what the Team, your team, Arsenal really need! which is Progression,

He could have just taken the money & continued to Deteriorate the back line with his decline in TOP form, but he chose to remove himself so that Arsenal

ARE FORCED TO IMPROVE!!!

My Captain!!! All the best in France, pls give Sokratis your blessing & lets Move Foward as is our Motto! #COYG

Technically every thread affords him that opportunity

Not very classy from Kos. It speaks volumes that he is prepared to go that route as it shows that not only is he a forerunner of the snowflake generation but that he has an extremely high degree of contempt for those above him at the club.

Loving your post Zanatos - I suspect that something got lost in translation.....I hope

This is absolutely disgusting behaviour from Koscielny. What a fucking *word censored*. If you want to go, ask to leave and then deal with the fact you don't get a leaving bonus or whatever the contract states. Honestly, a professional fucking footballer with loads of money having a tantrum and going on strike. Fucking grow up and show some respect to a club that have paid you a fortune and tolerated your averageness for too fucking long. Ask to go, tell Bordeaux to bid £10m and off you go, you prick.

Woukld you blame him if he were? How else is one meant to cope with the seemingly imminent collapse of our football club?

We all know Kos was done before this came out. That it has, suggests there is no back up plan to replace him. (Silly me, the one we want won't be playing for us next year as he'll be loaned back)
The only ones who were close to being leaders (Cech or Ramsey) are gone or Kos.
One 18 year old kid and all the dross still there.
Mid table is looking like a good season.
It goes from bad to worse. We are really in the shit this season.
