Anthems

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Sunshine on Leith was brilliant after that Hibs cup win..Blaydon Races was a local Newcastle song before it became Newcastle United song, but when you have a one team city then it is ok to adopt it.
Leeds had " Marching on Together " which always reminds me of their supporters..marching over people's heads.
There was apparently an Arsenal song back in the day called "Anchors Aweigh"...not sure of the history of that. But "Wonder of you " Why ??

We used to have “she wore a yellow ribbon” the victims have their nauseating pacemakers shite!! Celtic have the fields of athenry etc etc
What is the best fans anthem??
I reckon you’ll go a long way and further to hear a better one than the Hibbees “Sunshine onLeith” some great versions on YouTube.
Too drunk to do a link
It is a brilliant Anthem,I have a soft spot for Hibs and I get up to see them once or twice a season and I first heard SOL live in 2007 at Hampden park after there league cup win and I was at Hampden again to see them lift the 2016 Scottish fa cup and this time I knew the words
Brilliant anthem for a fantastic football club

There are some fantastic Argentina football club anthems and the Argentina fans anthem at the Brazil world cup in 2014 was brilliant

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEMfkQTnEhA

Brazil, tell me what it feels like
To have your daddy in your house
I swear no matter how many years go by
We will never forget
That Diego (Maradona) dribbled past you
That Cani (Claudio Caniggia) vaccinated you
You've been crying since Italy (1990) till today
Now you'll see Messi
He'll bring us the cup
Maradona is greater than Pele

Funnily enough I happened to be in Leith the day that they won that cup final.

Absolute fucking pandemonium.

And Sunshine on Leith is the best fan anthem out there.

I used to enjoy singing By Jesus Said Paddy. I remember an away game at Reading where some bloke got so pissed off that people were going too fast for his liking that he walked out even though we were 3-0 up
