Also https://www.skysports.com/football/news ... until-julyAll time stats in an Arsenal shirt:
1. Fabregas: 23936 mins, 57g, 92a, 160.6 mins per goal or assist
2. Özil: 20949 mins, 44g, 77a, 173.1 mins per goals or assist
Cesc cored more, assisted more, and did both at a higher rate considering minutes played.
However, that comparison is actually quite unfair on Cesc given that his first four seasons here were spent developing as a kid whereas Özil joined as a developed superstar. If we were only to compare Fabregas from 07/08 onwards (his breakout season) with Özil then we get the following results:
Stats following Fabregas's breakout season (07/08):
1. Fabregas: 12371 mins, 44g, 74a, 104.8 mins per goal or assist
2. Özil: 20949 mins, 44g, 77a, 173.1 mins per goals or assist
So Cesc not only wins, but wipes the floor with Mesut.
However, once again you could argue that comparison is unfair on Cesc given that he didn't start playing as a "10" until the 2009/2010 season. Before then he had been playing in a deeper midfield role, where you would expect him to be less productive. Özil, in comparison, has always played in an advanced role for us. If we were only to compare Fabregas's stats with Özil when playing the same role then we get the following results:
Stats following Fabregas's move to "10" role:
1. Fabregas: 5612 mins, 28g, 36a, 87.8 mins per goal or assist
2. Özil: 20949 mins, 44g, 77a, 173.1 mins per goals or assist
Özil's atomised body practically needs to be wiped off the floor at this point, with Fabregas proving to have been virtually twice as productive as Mesut while playing in a 10 role.

Yes, he really did.
Top 5 seasons from either Cesc / Özil in an Arsenal shirt:
1. Cesc 09/10: 3068 mins, 19g, 20a, 78.7 mins per goal or assist
2. Cesc 10/11: 2544 mins, 9g, 16a, 101.8 mins per goal or assist
3. Cesc 07/08: 3889 mins, 13g, 22, 111.1 mins per goal or assist
4. Özil 15/16: 3940 mins, 8g, 20a, 140.7 mins per goal or assist
5. Özil 16/17: 3746 mins, 12g, 14a, 144.1 mins per goal or assist
And none of that is even taking account Cesc’s much greater involvement in our build up play / defensive involvements. Cesc @ Arsenal was absolute levels above Özil @ Arsenal.
Jesus Christ you have posted some truly stupid stuff on here previously mate but that absolute garbage takes the biscuit!
Comparing base stats on 2 very different styles of player at very different times in their careers in 2 very different set ups with very different players around them without qualifying the level of team or the competition those goals and assists were recorded against or the quality of the assist is everything stupid that the Internet has brought us.
The fucking idiot that wrote that uses minutes on the pitch (again no qualifier re opposition / sub appearances etc) as his only attempt at a qualifier and then wraps up with the child like fan boy statement of "And none of that is even taking account Cesc’s much greater involvement in our build up play / defensive involvements". How is that qualified or quantified ffs? He only just fell short of saying "narny narny nar nar so there!"
Stats. The fall back argument of people that know nothing about football. Did you know we had a midfielder that had far better pass completion stats than Fabregas and played alongside him? No? He had a 98% pass completion rate one season. His name? Denilson. One of the most useless cùnts that ever played in an Arsenal jersey. Stats tell you what you want them to tell you. Nothing more.
Here's another stat: Ozil won 3 FA Cups with Arsenal. Fabregas won 1. That makes Ozil the more successful player and thus the better player for Arsenal right? Only if you are an idiot does it.
Maybe you should stick to hero worshipping Stupid Teeth Klopp and posting videos of your favourite scum goals huh?

I think it is fair to say that all attempts to enlighten you have failed despite best efforts to do so.
I'm looking forward to your next stats installment on Hillier v Selley, then maybe you can demonstrate through stats that Colin Hill was far superior to Viv Anderson. The list of opportunities is endless.

For the record I'm torn between who was "better", Fabregas or Ozil. Ignoring the silly prejudiced stats I think Ozil is / was the better footballer overall but that Fabregas was more effective for us.
But looking at the bigger picture Ozil was a huge success at Madrid and Fabregas' much sought after move to his "boyhood club blah blah blah" barcawhores was mostly a mixed bag and if we are being honest about it then it was probably a failure as he was in and out of the team and was never a key player for them the way he was for us, and the way Ozil was at Madrid.
The one thing I've always said and still maintain is that both players failed to deliver what they should have at Arsenal. And that is all down to Wenger's latter day mismanagement, stupidity and arrogance. He should have built two title winning sides around Fabregas and later around Ozil and he failed to do so.

Jesus where's my manners?!
Let's not forget also that Fabregas is a lying little chelsea rat cùnt that threatened to go on strike to force his move to the Whores. And then joined the fucking chavs the slimey little cùnt.

So Ozil isn't fit, physically or mentally and doesn't appear interested in paying football < time to get the lawyers on this prick ,he's retired on our tab !

Re: OZIL - Merged Thread
In fairness to Fabregas he asked Wenger to leave and go home Wenger (alledgedly) said give me 1 more season and then reneged on the agreement which led to the strike ,(he refused to go on the east pre season tour ) which was when gazidis stepped in and sold him , he also asked wenger to come back and we had an option buy back clause but wenger refused him which led him to Chelsea's door . Im not absolving him but he was heavily influenced by his old Catalan mates only to be shat on by the barca fans and club ,whilst im not keen on taking someone back I think we should have done in hindsight !DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 10:25 amJesus where's my manners?!

Conversely the much maligned Nasri only said I wont renew my contract ( as many others have done ),he went on the east tour and was prepared to not only play but see out his contract ,he played too b4 Gazidis sold him from under wengers nose which left us severely screwed !
The gazidis wenger war cost us dear !

I wonder if he's that ready, he might consider a pay cut....?
Re: OZIL - Merged Thread
I don't care our seasons all but over unless city field a reserve team and then its 50/50 !
Re: OZIL - Merged Thread
Even if we got the best 11 Arsenal players all fit and all at the top of their game, the current city reserves would probably still beat them. Arsenal have lost last seven games against City in all bar one of the defeats conceded three goals.

I'm not about to start singing the praises of this bloke but I do wonder how many times we have to watch Willock come off the bench as our supposed creator before it might occur to the super coach that Ozil might just be capable of creating the odd chance here or there?
