Yeah, we should have sold him when Wolves came calling in the summer transfer last year.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:58 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 12:22 pmEXCLUSIVE: Ainsley Maitland-Niles ready for Arsenal loan exit this month to boost flagging Euros hopes | @johncrossmirror https://t.co/B5PoqU6Bvv https://t.co/ZFzSKpYFjP

If he's loaned then hopefully he's played in his preferred position and we might see if he's good enough or not.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:57 pmYeah, we should have sold him when Wolves came calling in the summer transfer last year.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:58 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 12:22 pmEXCLUSIVE: Ainsley Maitland-Niles ready for Arsenal loan exit this month to boost flagging Euros hopes | @johncrossmirror https://t.co/B5PoqU6Bvv https://t.co/ZFzSKpYFjP

Well if we're taking silly incorrect cheap shots I'll retort with ummmm he's fucking shit everywhere he plays so can we put the "preferred position" horseshit to bed once and for all? Oh look I told the truth instead of taking of a cheap shot.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 5:42 pmIf he's loaned then hopefully he's played in his preferred position and we might see if he's good enough or not.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 3:57 pmYeah, we should have sold him when Wolves came calling in the summer transfer last year.augie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 1:58 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 12:22 pmEXCLUSIVE: Ainsley Maitland-Niles ready for Arsenal loan exit this month to boost flagging Euros hopes | @johncrossmirror https://t.co/B5PoqU6Bvv https://t.co/ZFzSKpYFjP

We haven't seen him in goal yet so I'll judge him then.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 9:19 pmWell if we're taking silly incorrect cheap shots I'll retort with ummmm he's fucking shit everywhere he plays so can we put the "preferred position" horseshit to bed once and for all? Arteta on if Mustafi's contract could be terminated this month: "He's another situation at the moment that is opening & we are having conversations internally with the player & agent. We will see what the right solution is for this one as well" #Arsenal https://t.co/1lVIQ8VtnJ

West Brom pushing hard to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan for rest of season. Also interest from a current top4 side but they need to do other business first. More suitors may emerge. Big call for Arsenal & 23yo before deadline @TheAthleticUK #WBA #AFC https://t.co/vcL7m7wLCo

According to @HibsCentral, #Arsenal are monitoring young Hibernian left-back Josh Doig & may make a bid before the window closes. https://t.co/Q931pQmi96

I think that's a tad harsh on Plymouth Argyle, DB even they have some standardsDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 9:19 pmWell if we're taking silly incorrect cheap shots I'll retort with ummmm he's fucking shit everywhere he plays so can we put the "preferred position" horseshit to bed once and for all? Could raise fresh questions about Ryan Bertrand future but #SAINTSFC want to keep him + add AMN @TheAthleticUK #WBA https://t.co/Nr9lLZcFyD
Dont suppose they would consider a swap for james ward prowse

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
oops its a danish name hence i thought he was one my bad , its a valid point you make about adjustment and game time but we shall see at least he isnt crocked as he arrives 1SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 12:55 pmI think he's from Norway mateHerd wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 11:07 pmI think signing players on loan in these times is financially prudent I have no idea if the lille dane is any good as i don't follow Danish footballers like i did when I followed them in the 80's n 90's and even at euro 2000 which seems like a lifetime ago.
The transfer market has never been more perilous all clubs have had their finances ruined by covid and nobody knows when or if that will change !
Commitment to multi million pound transfers is suicide in this climate and whilst I don't like us adding 120 million to our debt an interest rate of0.5 % is again not so risky unless we never return to normal .
I'm pissed off at our tame surrender of the only trophy we have had to ease the pain over the last years but we live in strange times ,to stay afloat and build again is what we should be thinking of !
At the moment all I'm thinking of is my pal Wilf who is very poorly in hospital with covid and Cookie who is losing his battle with the dreaded C,both massive gooners who i love and have been with since the 70's.
We were the Herd![]()
In any event, whilst the financials add up, I don't believe their heart is ever quite in it. Look at the ones we've taken over the years - they've nearly all been an absolute disaster
Always sounds good on paper, but the reality is that they arrive lacking game time, its a totally different pace of football and they never quite adapt.
Hoping he proves us wrong but based on what has gone before - Ceballos, Suarez etc, i hold out little hope
