Bollocks. Still waiting to see Martinelli start. If he don't play he won't improve. Odergaude (new bloke), did he play a forward pass ? Not many. Did he receive the ball, turn & either play a one two or take his man on ?. NO.
40 points for safety is still a long way off. Foxes next. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Until we start to take players on and committing them instead of trying to pass round them we will continue to be easy to defend against.
Too many games finish where we only have 1 or 2 attempts on goal.

It was a game in which city were almost inviting us to take them on, so they could take us on the counter but we didn't fall into their trap.
Tactically, that was a smart move. We could've been on a hiding dished out to Liverpool.
We can play better in moving the ball forward quicker but where was our no.10?
So many times this season I've seen opposing defenders, block and get to the ball before our forwards do in their box denying us a goal scoring opportunity.
Also, please can we have a player standing around the D on the edge of the box when we're attacking. It infuriates me when I see the ball drop there and no one in an Arsenal shirt anywhere near the area where we can have a shooting opportunity.
I don't think we were poor today, just playing a team that's superior to us.

Just seen an interesting stat, hard to believe for a defensive midfielder....

Xaha Did not make a tackle until the 53rd minute and then was cautioned
I couldn't understand why he was penalised for a high challenge, gundegon foot was as high, and he kicked xhaka's leg, meaning Xhaka was first to the ball. Yet, ref yellow cards Xhaka and awards city a free kick.

We were abused so much in the first 30 mins that the #MeToo movement started piping up.

The midfield is still stocked with players that just slow us down, ALL THE TIME! It's pretty predictable and it's tedious.

OBG i'm not sure yourpoint about playing Balogun is valid, he'd be in the exact same boat as the rest of our forwards, waiting an eternity to get the ball by which time all the opposition are back in position and closing him down, same goes for Martinelli, in fact it seems no matter which combination we play up front as long as the two holding players play sideways or backwards we will struggle to open teams up before they get set.... again it comes down to having shit midfielders, we do not have a single good midfielder who can get us moving forward quickly :banghead:

Elneny, Ceballos, Xhaka should never appear in an Arsenal shirt again but until Partey is fit and can play more than one game at a time those are our options, i'd actually try Chambers there for a change just to see if he could do any better because he cant do any worse :cussing:

That's one that always bugs me. Both feet high and going for the ball. It's purely accidental. Yes it's a sore one but not even a free kick let alone a booking.

As melonhead Andy Gray would say, not every coming together is a foul.

Compare that to John Stones shepherding the ball out for a goal kick. The ball isn't within 6 feet of him and he's more intent on blocking the man. That's an old fashioned indirect free kick for obstruction to me.

Perfectly acceptable when Sol Campbell used to do it though obviously.

A perfectly fair shoulder to shoulder challenge in my book, and sadly missing from today's game :( Look at the difference in our players and what stones showed yesterday - our players (especially xhaka but not only xhaka), wait for the slightest contact and go to ground grabbing the ball for a free kick, whilst stones was gonna fight and show who was boss in that moment and got his reward, and let's not forget that stones is not known for his defensive strength. Referee's in england are beginning to get wise to xhaka's attempt to con them that way now, and we are gonna to see an increasing number of occasions where the ref either waves play on or gives a free kick for handball against xhaka, and it is no less than he deserves.

Whilst I still doubt Arteta, Citeh are the form team in the lge, 4 against the mousers and easy win at toffees last week!
Make no mistake! An emery or wenger team would have lost 4,5,6 take your pick!
We had an awful first half hour, simply because they are better than us and Holding day dreaming didnt help!
We kept our shape didnt give up so some positives!
Thanks to our own sid's selfishness, there is now a world shortage of exclamation marks. The UN have appealed to the rogue state of sid to fucking think of other people's need to use exclamation marks and hold the fuck off using them all up.

Come on Augie, a shoulder to shoulder I will always agree but not a shoulder to the chest when the ball is not within a playable distance. That's a foul all day long mate.

The smallest player on the City team scoring with a header in the 6 yard box and our team having only one shot on target the whole 90 mins, are not very positive
