Nice that Martinelli and Mat Ryan play in fairness, but what the hell are we going to learn about Bellerin, Elneny and Ceballos that hasn't been seen dozens / hundreds of times before? Bellerin is a wasted selection - can't tackle, can't cross, lost all his pace
Gabriel has done absolutely nothing to justify a recall either - he's been pathetic ever since he came back from COVID, so yet again its another centre back partnership

Apparently there was a petition from all the Vegan Gooners Demanding he play...

And the point of playing an on loan keeper who will more than likely fùck off back to Brighton in 6 weeks time?
A few of you bang on about playing Odegaard and Ceballos but don't question this selection? Many questions about rotating centre halves too.
As we all know from the GG days the defence is a unit that includes the goalkeeper.

Personally I think that if we score early we will give them a beating, but even if we dont score early we will win.
I would have recalled gabriel tbh Steve, but I would have played him alongside mari cos I think that they are our best two centre backs.
Glad to seen ryan getting a chance in goals, but I would have preferred if balogun and ayeez were on the bench and got a decent run out regardless of how the game is going - as steve O said, we learn nothing knew by playing the likes of willian and pepe today, so lets use these games as a trial run to see if these kids are good enough for next season, or if maybe loan spell away from the club might help

Delighted to see Martinelli get a game.
He really needs to show off against this standard of opposition to boost his claim for a place in the regular X1
I'd have kept Mari in place and build that partnership for the rest of the season.
I think he's an excellent player - played in World Club final of course narrowly losing to Liverpool at their height.
There are no excuses here. We need a solid, convincing win.
Start like we did on Thursday and it's in the bag.

Do you think that it is possible that we will sign Ryan at the end of the season ? I think thgat we will cos we dont have any "internal solutions" right now. My gripes about playing odegaard is that it squeezes smith-rowe from the 10. My gripe with playing ceballos is that he isnt good enough. I would have zero problem with playing odegaard in the 8 cos I think that he is the best option we have for there NOW

Why does that not surprise me.
Just watched an old game of Arsenal vs Fulham (At the bowl) Arteta was playing mid-field and I now understand why he Loves Xhaka so much.
He played the ball backwards more than any other player on our team, he was unadventurous, dire and slow, passing the ball back when other options were clearly available, I think it is an indicator of how he is as a manager/coach...
AND he gave away a penalty, from which Berbatov scored to take the lead to 2 - 3
We equalise through Lampost, then in the 95th minute we are awarded a (dubious) penalty for handball; the possible penalty takers in the team are Podolski, Corzola and Arshavin even Giroud!!! But guess who grabs the ball and steps up to take the pen which could win us the game!?? Yup! good ole Captain Scarlet and what a Lame Fuckking penalty it is...their goalie Schwartzer saves it with ease.![]()
95th Minute and the USELESS FUCKKER MISSES! and it ended 3 - 3.

Even if we win today I am not happy about the unnecessary changes made to the defence.
Big chance for Martinelli today though.

Thats extremely selective mate. For his first two seasons with us Arteta was a very good DM. He was the closest we had to a Gilberto type player that could read the game and anticipate the play. Whilst some dicks were hailing Alex Mong for his one Hollywood tackle every 5 games Arteta just got on with the quiet business of covering the back 4 effectively.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 11:40 am"Just saw an interview with Parker. Whatever about his new persona as Martinez-Lite, lets not rewrite history about him as a player.

Parker must still live with his Nan and she does his clothes shopping for him. It's like an advert for 1970's QVC!
Re: Fulham Fartpipes H Sun 18th Apr KO 130pm
ElNeny is so infuriating, every time he looks to play it backwards as a first option, he's utter shit.

Why is Linda captain? A player way past his sell by date that contributes the bear minimum and is not a leader.
I just hope that armband is made of organic hemp.

For the love of God get rid of fucking Bellerin. Already been more threat down our right side in 13 minutes than every game he hasn't played in
About 4 touches and every one ends up with them. Fucking useless wanker
