That's a real problem with VAR
It appears it's only used if a goal is scored

But if a player is offside, wins a corner and then they score, then it counts?? That's a real flaw.

Just another shit feature of VAR is that the lino will keep the flag down even if he’s fairly sure it’s offside and let the play develop so VAR can cancel the goal if there was in fact an offside.

The problem with that is if a goal doesn’t come directly from that passage of play then there’s no check of offside and only continues.

Everton got a corner there form just such an incident.
