I played bass in 4 piece band, also sang part of our set, made up of few Rory Gallagher, Neil Young, AC/DC, Whitesnake, Sabbath numbers.our lead guitarist went on to session in the states, back home now he does classical recitals, when not pissed
Our first gig was supporting "Toe Jam" a local top drawer band, (the late gerry anderson, norn iron broadcaster was their bassist, great player and great voice)
We all fell out after about six months and despite forming a few more bands, we never went beyond rehearsing.

In that case Sid you'll appreciate the incredible technique and agility of the one and only Jaco Pastorius...

Thanks OneBard. It all went really smoothly and was great fun except that bastard floating Floyd Rose trem! I'd heard they were a cùnt to install and balance - and it was! Took hours to balance the tension between the strings and the trem spring claw in the back. Then sorting the intonation and action was a chore too. I'm happy enough with it now but I might get a pro set up done on it by a luthier just to make it that last bit more professional.

I wouldn't have a scooby about how to do even the simplest thing - I am (when it comes to mechanical things) asmy dear departed Big brother would say "cack handed"

I can do other creative stuff, but fixing engines, fixing stuff & DIY is anything but my forte

Looks great though...Have you had chance to give it a good run through and blast yet?

ps: nice touch with the 5150 as well. 8)

Yeah and it plays and sounds great. I spent a few extra quid on the pups and that was money well spent! I'd like the action a little bit lower maybe but that would need to be done by a luthier as it would involve filing the fret wires in places and that would be beyond my skill level. The more I think about it I think I will let a pro luthier do a little work on it.

I couldn't resist so went in just to have a look and as I did there was this 'Kid' about 8 or 9yrs; the guitar was as big as him and they (the EVH Set-up) sounded feckin' AWESOME!...

The kid was playing Eruption and more or less had it off to a "T"... 8)

I used to own a Marshall 160 watt valve bass amp, trouble was getting a speaker that could do it justice.
And fuck off DB, a bass guitar is a guitar

I used to own a Marshall 100w Mosfet reverb combo. That reverb spring was about 2 foot long. Or half a OneBard in length. :D

It's generic DB, most Ingerlish lads have small lads  but they're deluded!
Jeremy Beadle was a perfect example, he had a tiny cock, but in the other hand it was huge!
