As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Arsenal are prepared to pay Tammy Abraham £125k PW, which is £45k PW more than he’s on at Chelsea. It’s thought they still want to do a loan to buy [Via - @DExpress_Sport].
If that’s true it’s absolute Madness
If we are his boyhood club etc, etc then we shouldn’t have to pay anywhere near that amount.
I’d rather spend money on a youngster, who can still Improve, than an over the hill has been like Willian but even so, I’m not convinced.

Of course. It's what we do, isn't it? Fucking hell.
This season wont by a 55-60 game campaign. 38 games plus the FA & League cup. Our Europea cup campaign last year was 14 games long, its almost half a season we wont need to play. Abraham is a squad player and in a year where we will have the luxury of 7 day breaks we dont need 40m squad players. Im not overly worried about depth. Im worried about getting rid of the players who have overstayed their welcome (Xhaka, Bellerin) and finding quality players for the first team.
NEW GK
NEW RB White Gabriel/Holding Tierney
Partey NEW CM
Saka ESR Pepe
PEA.
We still need three first team signings and its not upfront so 40m on Abraham is sacrilegious. I wouldn't even pick him ahead of Lacazette or Martinelli so whats the point of him? Unless he is a longer term replacement for Lazazette.
Its Xhaka & Torreira who should be sold, Willock kept and a first choice midfielder to play alongside Partey. The new Belgium lad, Elneny and Willock on the bench. Sort the keeping situation too & buy a new RB.
The next singings we make need to be first team players & be a RB, CM or GK if Leno is to be sold. So if we sign Abraham, not least of all for 40m, it means Arteta doesnt know whats going.
Dont underestimate the advantage we have in playing no midweek games. Arteta has an opportunity through last seasons failure & if we dont seriously challenge for 4th at minimum, then he simply needs to go.
If a move does become permanent, the 23-year-old reportedly wants an increase in his salary from £85,000-a-week to £125,000-a-week - and the Gunners are prepared to offer him that figure.
If this goes through it confirms EDu and arteta are a pair of tossers
La Stampa, via TMW, report ‘Everything has stopped’ on the Xaha deal, because AS Roma haven’t reached the figure the Premier League club are looking for.
Ben White's medical on Wednesday - Various on Twitter.
You’ve got to love the bullshitting media there were loads of reports that the medical was over the weekend and an announcement was imminent… now it’s Wednesday ITK my arse…. they’re making it up as they go along and hoping their guess is correct
Sky are reporting that Brighton had a sell on clause inserted for White over and above the 50 million transfer fees. If true this is one hell of a deal for them and it looks like we just bent over . Still think he is a very good player.

In fairness to our once great club, that is our default position.
