Just the type of signing to propel your club into the super power status - a has been perma crock player

(cant find the link now but apparently geordie fans want ramsey as their first signing

From what I seem to remember reading a few years ago, it all hinges on whether they have any interests in other clubs or have had any convictions for financial dishonesty or negligence. By the looks of it, it seems torture, terrorism, extra-judicial killings and human rights abuses are all absolutely fine. I think having spent time in prison also prohibits someone from running a club and I read a piece about five years ago which made the point that under that rule; Nelson Mandela would have been prevented from running a Premier League club but Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and Jim Jong Un would all have been perfectly fine.wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 4:29 amWhat is the fit and proper persons test? Bin Salman is the guy who ordered that poor journalist cut up. There are people in the USA who want to investigate The Saudi governments role in 9/11. There are human rights abuses galore committed by Newcastle's new owners. Can women drive in this country. Newcastle new owners are basically a watered down version of the Taliban. The Saudi's are more despotic than Man Cities owners.
Didnt Bin Laden support us? And after 9/11 we 'banned' him from highbury, mainly as a gesture as the worlds most wanted terrorist couldn't exactly sit in the clock end unnoticed. But now we have owners of premier league clubs who lead governments who would brush up against terrorists and commit atrocities themselves. Its incredible the lack of standards in English football regarding which people can buy into the premier league.
Wont be long now before a drug cartel buys into the league.
Welcome to all 5 along with Xhaka and Kolasinac. Anyone else they would like? A few on loan who could go there.Redarmy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 3:38 pmJust seen an article about NUFC...spokesperson for takeover team talking......
“We’re proud to be part of the Premier League. It’s an incredibly competitive league, which we love. Premier League football is the best in the world, and Newcastle United is the best team in the world.
“We want to see it get those trophies, obviously. At top of the Premier League, in Europe, but to get trophies means patience, investment, time.
Then goes on to say they may raid Arsenal for Leno, Holding , AMN, Elneny and Nekitah....
FFS they sign that lot more likely to be relegated![]()

Ah yes the current flavour of the month managerial genius, because Brighton aren't 17th.augie wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:03 pmThe papers this morning were all stating what an exciting time it is for geordie fans, and in the same articles they were suggesting that potter (brighton boss) is favourite to take over from bruce, and that the burnley centre back is in line to be their first signing of the new regime - hardly edge of the seat excitement is it![]()

In the very early days they won't be able to attract the very best either - go back to the start of the Abramovich days and you'll find Glen Johnson, Damien Duff and a collection of good, but not world beating players being bought. 3 years on and you're talking about their first title in 50 years, and within 10 years of the takeover European Champions.wilson2.0 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 8:05 amThey wont get good overnight. They will make some massive dud signings and buy some absolute lemons, you only need to look at some of the donkeys Man City bought along the way to their present state. But the truth is after 4-5 years of spending the most money in the world, they will probably be among the top 5 teams in the world.
Who would have thought a few years ago Newcastle United's future would be more optimistic than Barcelona's.

Kroenke and son could be here 50 years and we wouldn't come close to either of those prizes
