What is the fit and proper persons test? Bin Salman is the guy who ordered that poor journalist cut up. There are people in the USA who want to investigate The Saudi governments role in 9/11. There are human rights abuses galore committed by Newcastle's new owners. Can women drive in this country. Newcastle new owners are basically a watered down version of the Taliban. The Saudi's are more despotic than Man Cities owners.
Didnt Bin Laden support us? And after 9/11 we 'banned' him from highbury, mainly as a gesture as the worlds most wanted terrorist couldn't exactly sit in the clock end unnoticed. But now we have owners of premier league clubs who lead governments who would brush up against terrorists and commit atrocities themselves. Its incredible the lack of standards in English football regarding which people can buy into the premier league.
Wont be long now before a drug cartel buys into the league.
From what I seem to remember reading a few years ago, it all hinges on whether they have any interests in other clubs or have had any convictions for financial dishonesty or negligence. By the looks of it, it seems torture, terrorism, extra-judicial killings and human rights abuses are all absolutely fine. I think having spent time in prison also prohibits someone from running a club and I read a piece about five years ago which made the point that under that rule; Nelson Mandela would have been prevented from running a Premier League club but Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and Jim Jong Un would all have been perfectly fine.
Why oppose the ESL if this is what its come down to. All modern football is, is a spending competition where fans get pinched in the rat race to pay higher transfer fees and higher wages. Newcastle will join City as a club with a bottomless pit of cash, Chelsea pockets are not the deepest anymore, United, Liverpool, Tottenham, & ourselves can still generate cash to spend although every revenue avenue is exhausted to be able to do this, and this mostly involves pinching the fans. This is the case for all clubs below in the money hierarchy.
I havent bought a kit in years, I went to London three years ago and made no effort to watch a game, I dont pay for the streaming services here in Australia to watch all games live. There are two free to air games per week and if Arsenal are one of them, great, if not, I can only watch the replay which I only watch if we win. For principle I haven't spent any money on football for the past 5 years.
Fans are getting mugged and treated like a customers rather than fans. To all these people opposing the ESL, what is the integrity of modern football do you think your protecting? The ESL will happen regardless. Once the best assets in world football are sold off and controlled unconditionally by sovereign wealth funds and private businessman, they will do what they want with it.
Stop spending money on the game. Indulge some other vanity or invest it. You can still follow football, but F me if I have to pay for it. Im not contributing to Willians wages.

The papers this morning were all stating what an exciting time it is for geordie fans, and in the same articles they were suggesting that potter (brighton boss) is favourite to take over from bruce, and that the burnley centre back is in line to be their first signing of the new regime - hardly edge of the seat excitement is it

But the truth is after 4-5 years of spending the most money in the world, they will probably be among the top 5 teams in the world.
Who would have thought a few years ago Newcastle United's future would be more optimistic than Barcelona's.

Especially when Newcastle as a city would be nowhere near as appealing to foreigners as london would. It will take longer than a lot of people predict, but with the right off-field appointments, they will be a dominant force in years to come
