Arsenal are very close to an agreement with Mohamed Elneny for a new contract until 2024. [@ismaeelmahmoudd, @ElBaladOfficial] #afc https://t.co/ecImTYb3iN

Arsenal are front runners to sign Youri Tielemans having held talks since last year & are confident they can sign the player if they qualify for #UCL. Tielemans has always been impressed by Arsenal & there is a feeling from both parties terms can be agreed. [@JacobsBen] #afc https://t.co/SYEUYo291Z

Rate him as a player, depends on how much they want I guess or is he on a 'free' (and a signing on fee).?

Would welcome this signing. Over 100 PL appearances and seems to do the business in big matches, like the cup final. Just turned 25 so physically should be getting towards peak years, and no longer a raw kid. These are the sort of signings that do excite me, rather than the latest 18 year old wonderboy from the back of beyond. Get Saliba back into the squad, two forwards, Tielemans and one more top drawer CDM aged 28-32 and the building blocks are there for improvement

Either of the Brighton DMs would do me.

Tielemans....yes please.

I'd also actually be for re-signing both El Neny and Eddie as fabled internal solutions because I just don't think we can go out and championship manager all our problems away in just one transfer window.

Tielemans with either a Tierney replacement or at the very least a proper back up at LB plus our main bit of business in getting a powerhouse striker that will get 20 league goals is all I can see us going for.

Adding the likes of Bissouma and a second striker to the mix and we're in wet dream territory especially if Xhaka fucks off (come on Jose you know you want to).

It hasn't really worked out for Balogun at Boro but who knows maybe he's ready to come back in and give us an option.

I have no problem with Elneny staying , we'll need numbers and hes happy to be a bit part.

Still undecided on Eddie , as a second striker maybe, must sign a top quality no 9 though.

Sweet Jesus rodders - I know we cant "football manager" (hasnt been called championship manager in over a decade  ) all our problems away in one swoop, but no fcuking way should nketieh be our second choice manager - seasons consist of 38 league games plus a number of cup games, and just cos eddie scores in 3 or 4 games at the tail end of the season does not make him good enough imo. I like the guy, and because he is homegrown I would love it if he was of the required quality, but the reality is that he isnt good enough to be second choice much less first choice

Can I also say that I have never been a big fan of this "I wont celebrate when I score against my old team" nonsense, but eddie not celebrating cos of a loan spell with those c.unts is absolute bollox imo

Yeah, I agree although I think Nketiah celebrated his second goal a few minutes later

must admit any remaining respect I had for RVP completely went after he celebrated like a man possessed after beating Arsenal . Ex-captain ffs :cussing:

I was also at Citeh when Adebayor went full mental and ran the full length of the pitch towards us. Surreal but certainly memorable

A decent price I guess, especially as there will be other teams looking to sign him
