ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

Are you sure we're not signing Haaland and Mbappe? That's two strikers and isn't that what we're looking for this summer.

I don't understand why Edu hasn't nipped this in the bud already. :D

Agree. Why would they want to go anywhere else? Champions League football in London, doesn't get any better than that. Haaland gets to hang out with Odegaard and Mbappe would surely want to be the next in the line of succession of the great French strikers namely Anelka, Henry, Wiltord, Giroud and Lacazette...

Signing 2 strikers as well as a class midfielder feels like a very difficult, expensive thing to do in one window.

If we signed Tielemans (or another decent midfielder) and ONE top striker, then renewing the contracts of Eddie and Elneny would be okay with me. Under no circumstances should Laca get a new contract though!

I’d also be happy to keep Xhaka (I think I’m alone in that view on here   ) but I suspect he wouldn’t be happy being a bit part player.

The problem with keeping Nketiah on will actually be if we do get CL football. In the EL you could see him being our main striker and actually bagging a few, such is the poor standard of the competition in the early stages. Hopefully we'd get to the semi final at the least which would mean 12 games at least for him. Throw in half a dozen domestic cup games (hopefully) and say 8-10 PL games and you've got a lad you can offer 25 odd games too

If we get in the CL is anyone suggesting he would play more than a handful?

In all honesty I was feeling sorry for him, because anyone who is okay with CliveElCunto staying at the club obviously has Mental Health issues. :D

I must have then as I have always defended xhaka, he's no world beater but pretty solid and played some nice defence splitting passes against Leeds.

I guess other ex pro footballers like wrighty who said he's been excellent (bit of a stretch but many of our players have been either) lately no nothing of football either.

Watch him score the winner against the spuds :barscarf:

Okay, let me put it this way, if IF rescores the Winning goal for us against the scum - I will "forgive" him for a whole week! :D :barscarf:

Edu Gaspar wants to sign Aaron Hickey for Arsenal ‘as a replacement for the disappointing Nuno Tavares’, with ‘€20m on the plate’. ‘According to British sources, direct contact’ is expected between Arsenal & Bologna ‘in the next few hours’. No doubt tavares has been poor for the last few months, but am I the only one who thinks that we should be giving him more time ? He is still young and inexperienced and has moved to a new country, and I would rather give him a chance to have a second season bounce back, then spend money on a left back that I feel should be prioritised elsewhere
