FYI I do go to the games, all i was saying is that the mark of a true fan is someone who makes it whenever it is humanly possible, someone who will be there through thick, not necessarily being someone whose daddy buys him the tickets and goes when he can be bothered, someone like you who has only ever known (and been) thick, can you honestly say that you'll go to freeze your balls off in the middle of winter in a thin season, that's what makes a real fan, all the rest is just bullshit.
p.s. if you've been lucky enough only to have known good times that doesn't make you less of a fan, you are less of a fan if you jump ship as soon as things start going wrong.

You are so right. No-one is bigger than Arsenal Football Club.Rafales wrote:....no one is bigger than the club that applies to wenger also.
However, we should all appreciate that we wouldn't be where we are now (new stadium; new ground; even more famous around the world and playing the best football we have ever seen

There have been times in the past when I have become a little frustrated with Wenger's lack of transfer activity, or with his use of tactics or substitutions. Yet, when I sit and think about it in the cold light of day, I realise that we really haven't had as good as we have under Arsene Wenger.
I doubt any other manager in world football could/would have achieved as much success for Arsenal as Wenger did; especially with all the financial restrictions he has had to operate under. Arsenal have gone from being the club everyone else hated because of our rugged style, to the one most other fans would love their team to play like, and would even pay to see play.
Trust me, as someone who grew up during the sixties and seventies when we were disliked by almost everyone and played rubbish football to boot (1970-73 were obviously the exception), these are indeed golden years.
For all the above reasons, if for nothing else, as Gooners we should all be extremely thankful to Mr. Arsene Wenger, and we should all hope that he stays with Arsenal for as long as possible.

Welcome to the forum, Cockerill's Chin
. Hope you are both informed and entertained by what goes on here.
I was certain when I saw that name as the newest registered member that you would be a Spud!! Seems I was wrong.
Why that username, if you don't mind me asking? (If your surname is Cockerill, I apologise in advance!

Oh, that Cockerill?
In that case, I would have thought it would have been better to have used the name 'Cockerill's Glass Chin'!!
Of course I remember that incident.
Cockerill gave Paul Davis some foul-mouthed racist abuse and Paul gave him the left hook!!
I seem to remember the media going over-board as usual and Davis got a nine match ban. Wasn't he also forced to miss the whole of the title run-in and that epic match at Anfield in 1989?
