Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Arsenal’s second proposal to Leeds for Raphinha was turned down today, with the club hesitant around the fee. Leeds have negotiated a big part of the fee to be paid up front, which Chelsea have accepted. [@Freddie_Paxton] #afc

Leeds United like Chelsea’s offer for Raphinha but are now waiting for Arsenal to make their move. Reports, @simpraisa and @thirfernandes.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
The concern with the Jesus transfer is will he chase and press like he did at City or is he going somwhere cosy with a manager who is a friend...and of course Arsenal pay good wagesDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 1:15 pmAs for Jesus. Not the signing I wanted but I welcome another addition of an experienced PL player to a thin squad. Hopefully he can bring and help instill a winners mentality in some of our snowflake players too.
Hes not going there to win cups and leagues thats for sure

Patino looks like hes bulked out, hope he kicks on this year.
Bisouma (at £25 million) will break him in half...as no doubt many other premiership midfielders

Add Pepe to above as wellGoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Tue Jun 28, 2022 9:34 amRight now I couldn't care less who is bought as a striker, what wingers are brought in or ACMs, fucking Xhaka is the single biggest issue with our team and will remain so as long as he wears the shirt.
Their is a misconception of the role Xhaka plays, he is not our CDM and only really plays that when Party and Elneny aren't on the pitch, he is our CM.
Putting aside his utterly woeful attempts at defending, his idiotic and petty attempts to get sent off every match and his backwards and sideways passing, he is actually supposed to be the focus of the team. The centre point which everything pivots around and yet he starts nothing, creates nothing, and 90% of his forward passes go awry until this is addressed week in week out the same bullshit as happened under Wenger, Emery, Freddie and now Arteta will continue to happen
As I said a week or so ago Xhaka needs fucking off before any other plans are made otherwise everything else is pointless......

Not like Arsenal to drag their feet on a transfer to save a tenner!!
Best bring back Gnabry now before there's no to youngsters left!!

On this occasion have we dragged our feet or were we a stalking horse putting Raphinha's price up ? It looks like we made a realistic offer and waited to be gazzumped .
I am told by a couple of Leeds people that I used to work with that he always looked spectacular for them but mainly as he was the best of a bad bunch but had a very high opinion of himself and tended to blame everyone else for things that went wrong on the pitch. ( Do we want another Xhaka ? ) They were quite happy to get £ 50 million from us and now reckon that they have seen Chelsea coming.

cant help thinking we have urgent priorities in other areas.....hopefully recognised and to be dealt with
Buying Raphina for £50 million in our position is like going to Harrods and buying the most expensive curtains.....when you have damp in the walls

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
As usual Arsenal FC Edu & Co have sat on their arses or gone for their Hollibobs playing on their jet ski's etc whilst the chavs have simply stepped in with an offer Leeds would accept, no frills or fucking about.
Chavs: "Here's £55million we want Raphina.." Leeds: "Okay, done"
As someone has already said because we go in trying to save a tenner or whatever, we get gazumped, ego in like a buyer for Lidl instead of Harrods we lose out again.
One Thing Is Guaranteed about the Chavs getting him instead of us is that he WILL Score against us next season in at least one of the two prem games.... as the commentator says" And Raphina has Scored!!! The player Arsenal were looking to buy has put the Chavs ahead etc etc etc"
You can put money on it.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Please lads lets not lose our shit over losing a player that we shouldnt have been chasing in the first place - we are sub-standard in centre midfield, are average at centre forward, and have a real need in left back position plus question marks at right back spot too, so lets not go ape shit at losing out on a winger when we already have too many fuckers for the wings already
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Spot on Augie , people need to calm down , theyve come in with 65 million, ,, high wages and reportedly 8 figure bonus for Deco. All this for a back up to Saka would be madness, im more concerned about reports West Ham have bid for Tielemans.augie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 8:47 amPlease lads lets not lose our shit over losing a player that we shouldnt have been chasing in the first place - we are sub-standard in centre midfield, are average at centre forward, and have a real need in left back position plus question marks at right back spot too, so lets not go ape shit at losing out on a winger when we already have too many fuckers for the wings already
