Europa Cup Competition Thread 2022/23

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I assume 3rd place in the CL groups drop into the Europa League again? - if so, we’ll have Bayern, Barca or Inter Milan from group C…
Yip they do mate  so Inter Barca or nah fuck Bayern will pish that group so it'll be Inter or Barca taking on the Athletico mantle this year
Yeah, I’d be surprised if it’s Bayern finishing 3rd. Hope not anyway!

Group A opponents

Arsenal

PSV

FK Bodo/Glimpt

FC Zurich
No long trips really so can't complain really.

I wouldn’t have been able to make that post Falkirk, because I haven’t got the faintest fucking idea where either FK Bodo/Glimpt are!! Am I right in assuming that they’re different sides who are playing each other to get into the group stage??

Welcome to the Europa League, where the teams we play sound like the names of Hobbits or characters from Star Wars. :barscarf:

What an amazing away game Bodo will be by the way!

The west coast of Norway must be amongst the most beautiful regions in the world. Fjord after fjord with the odd glacier too. One of my favourite holidays ever. Simply stunning 8)

I have some Norwegian friends that live near Oslo and have their Arsenal supporters group . It is a shorter distance and less time for them to come to London than it is to get to Bode.

Thanks Mc....I took it as the one team initially, then wondered why the forward slash and a name that sounded like a different place and started to think they were different teams. I did think it would be odd if Europa League places hadn't been already decided.

Anyway, thanks, I now know it's Norway. Don't know when we're due to go there, but it will be bloody cold as we get properly towards winter.

I know of them like most people up here because they pumped a certain team from Glasgow last season who wear green and white hoops. They seem a not bad outfit to be fair.I think they beat Roma aswell.I remember Rosenborg in years gone by,they used to scud bigger teams quite regularly.

We've got our Thursdays back......we've got our Thursdays back

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Really looking forward to this - missed European football so much last season, and this is exactly the right competition for us to be in at this time. Will be going to all the home games - expect to see a mixture of some fringe players and hopefully 2 or 3 of the top kids, which served us very well previously with the likes of Saka and Martinelli. PSV will create a good atmosphere too - not sure about the others
